Deflected off what? the reasoning was not intentional, sorry but that penalty is almost never intentional, don't troll, we know our PP sucks and it wouldn't have mattered if they had a full period of PP's
- cranford93

Exactly, we are all aware they would have failed to even get a shot on goal let alone an actual goal on that potential power play.

I am still shaking my head at how I really thought Richards was on the verge of turning it around.

He is as invisible now as he has been all season.

I'll put it this way. Stand on the ice, not moving and place a puck infront of you. With one hand, shoot or "bat" that puck into the stands.

Impossible.

Players constantly "swing their sticks" infront of incoming opposing players with the puck in hoping of deflecting their shots away from the net - if those hit the seats or netting (like 90% of them do) are all of those penalties too? Obviously they aren't deliberate but they are swinging their sticks into the puck...

The very wording on the rule doesn't call it a penalty, and hockey logic doesn't call it a penalty.

I'm not trying to troll fellas, but I honestly wouldn't be upset if the roles were reversed - even with the way our PP is going.

Also - Holtby is the epitome of class and if he wants to share a FACT then he damn well can. It sure was an easier night for him - who are you to disagree and QQ about him stating that? Like I'm actually peeved he would say that BECAUSE of the fire it should light in the blueshirts' bellies...like c'mon.

Don't worry about what were saying. Worry about how you play on the ice.

- blondinwrx

I'm glad he said it. The Rangers should set up a tent right in front of his crease line and annoy the crap out of him and be right on top of him all night. He needs a little more "straining", then accommodate him.

Rangers will be in beast mode tonight and win. So close last game. Tonight is the night Nash nets his first goal gets the team going and the Rangers win 3 -1

On Staal, let me be clear, only play him if he is ready. If I failed to make that clear in the blog, my apologies. Do not rush him back. If the main issue is confidence, which is what it sounded like a few days ago, that's different. If it's health, then no way do you rush him.

On the officiating and Holtby. A) don't tell me in my blog what to say. B) fans of nearly every time will tell you I am pretty unbiased with my anaylsis, pro and con of the Rangers and their opponents. c) it was pretty wide-spread that most believe it was penalty. d) I stated that the Rangers were unlikely to do anything.e) Holtby may be a great guy but you never, ever diminish your opponent, which is what I was saying. f) No kidding we need to score, and I agree, to shut him up, beat him. That still doesn't mean I have to like what he said.

It's moot and that call wasn't what lost the game. The Capitals outplayed them, especially in the third and in overtime. It was a well deserved win for them and a deserved loss for the Rangers.

Lundqvist was all that separated that game from a regulation loss, by several goals.

I see most of you have been watching the other playoff games. I have a question...outside of Pittsburgh and maybe Chicago, do you think any of the other playoff teams have a much more talented roster than the Rangers?

I don't recall telling you what to say, only asking a question.

I'll leave it at that. Enjoy the game tonight, should be a good one.

Really going to be hard to top last nights between Ottawa and Habs - I was there and what a total poopshow....

If the pucks on edge you can easily put it out, so your argument is it went off the glass, so the puck hit the glass and further up and over? the video is clear as day, don't start this argument because it means so little to the series

To be honest not many do. I think you could say Vancouver has a lot of talent, Anaheim as well. I would say the 2 teams you mentioned along with Ana, Van and the Rangers are top 5 talent wise in the playoffs.

Definitely Chicago, no question about it. But other than those two, it is debatable that the Rangers have the third best roster in the postseason.

I would say no, but they wouldn't be worse than top five.

Potentially talented and actually talented are two different things. Potentially no I wouldn't say that any other team is more talented other than said two. But there are a lot of team fulfilling their potential talent and that is really what matters this time of year.

The reason I asked is because I've watched other games and the Rangers play nothing like the other teams in the playoffs. I think they have one of the more talented rosters. They always seem to be fighting themselves in every aspect. It's like bizarro hockey.

The other teams playing have a 3rd and 4th gear they can find, it just seems the rangers are stuck in 1st 2nd and neutral most of the time. Very concerning

He better - He suspends Gryba for "malicious intent to injure" which was completely questionable - and here we are, with numerous incidents from the habs where "malicious intent to injure" is clear as day.

Better come down hard...

I agree.

Gallagher gets 1 game
Bourque at least 2, possibly 3
Gorges deserves 5 if you ask me

Bad

We all need to be positive or else what's the point of rooting in the playoffs?

Really hope Kreider is back in, time to sit the useless offensive players, once and for all.

Also, fine Thierrien for putting them out late and a suspension wouldn't shock me to send a real message.
