Why by that logic does someone have to be traded?

I think we will move Nino and the first this offseason.
- mighty13duck

Well then you must expect to get a 1st line winger or a top 3 dman in that transaction if thats the case. Well you would hope anyways

Oh, I'm sure he'd be REAAAL close behind Sid

Not that I'm interested in this debate anymore but now they're saying that Roenick and Milbury are doing the NHL a disservice accusing Crosby of diving on the Pens thread

Nino, while he is at his highest trade value. He does not want to be here, from the reports. He is playing well at the worlds. It will not affect the team chemistry.

RS will be on the team next year. You guys are in a great place at the moment. You are becoming a good team; still with lots of pieces to move. Right on Grath.

From what reports? There's no evidence of that. Without explanation he wasn't invited to camp preseason and therefore got upset and asked his agent to do something about it. Garth travelled out there and explained the teams plan for Nino and everything was fine. He knew he wouldn't be playing in the playoffs so requested to play at the worlds. I think we're making a bit much of this.

When his agent asked for him to be moved a few months ago. I didn't make anything of it, just suggets a move for a new player.

Of the prospects we're expecting Strome, Nino, (perhaps) Nelson, and maybe Donnovan to be ready next year.
We can open spots for them by saying bye to Boyes, Aucoin and Jonesuu/Reasoner. Streit may be gone as well so there's another spot.

There's not log jam. These FA's were signed as stop gaps with an eye to specific players being ready this year, and others ready next year.

It's all part of the plan!

Sheesh. As if no other player is ever accused of embelishment. Besides, I think Milbury and Roenick were more on the case of the officials for making a soft call.

Nah...they only did that because Isles management did a poor job of communicating to Nino why he wasn't even invited to camp. They were understandably upset. Nino himself said they spoke to garth and all is good.

That certainly will not bring you in a top 6 player. If you want those players, you have the assests to get them now. And, with the team clearly on the rise, you will find players that want to play with JT, just like the players that want to play with others inthe league.

Any of you guys ever think that the Isles should take a chance trading for Ryan Miller?
I like Nabby a lot but he has been garbage in the playoffs htis year and he is getting up there in age. Not sure how much he has left in the tank. Miller clearly wants out of Buffalo. It would solidify our goaltending issue for quite a while. I dunno, mixed feelings about it but after this season, goaltending becomes a huge qustion mark.

- NewYawkIslandez

Yes, but what would you give up for him? There'd have to be a lot of conditions about the Isles being able to sign him...next season's his last on his current contract.

But we also have guys that wont be back next year as you said & guys that can stay in the AHL... no one HAS to be traded. We have 4 potential spots opening. And we have guys that would benefit from more time in the AHL.

I think BN MD RS and NN are all ready, and as of now Unless Ulstrom/Jonesu goes theres only 2 forward spots

Again, there'd have to be conditions on the Isles' ability to re-sign him. It'd suck giving up Nino and a first for just one year of Vanek. But, I've always thought Tavares and Vanek would be an absolutely deadly duo.
