a) i was laughing at the comparison to a player coming off a bench...thats a joke.
b) cooke was hanging over the boards INSIDE the isles bench; its not like carkner left his stick dangling in play. is he going to win the lady byng award? no...was it a cheap shot? sure...but if carkner gets suspended for that play; kunitz better get suspended as well for the spear to grabners nuts...

- LetsGoIsles

He placed his stick in that position over the boards. Watch it on Youtube. Very dirty play, and he smiles about it as well. If it was on any other player, it would be a different story, but it was on Cook. No biggie then.

Still sucks and to be honest any other team would not have him logging the minutes that he gets on the Isles
- kasperrko

I am rooting for the Islanders for the upset but if the Pens win I wont be upset either.
You say how he WAS playing, he is still playing that way. He seems to be on the ice for every goal the Penguins get. He is to slow of a defenseman to get top minutes

i watched the play, cookEs head was over the boards...again, carkner wont be winning the lady byng award but if thats dirty then so is the kunitz spear to grabners junk..

no ones ever gotten penalized/suspended for smiling...not even when playing the pens.

he was +3 yesterday...with 2 shots on goal; 3 blocked shots and 30 minutes of ice time... pretty solid day

I don't understand your reply. Sorry, I am a hockey fan. The Crosby penalty is going to get called every time. If it was JT going hard to the net and someone did that to him, He would get that call to. The play on the bench was a serious cheap shot at Cook. Plain and simple.

And this gem from his blog:
Can coach Capuano scratch Michael Grabner for the rest of the series? Please? The guy’s all over the ice.

Don't give him any ideas

- keaner17

Whose blog is that from? Grabner has been top three best player for the Isles. Capuano is a (frank)ing moron. Would'nt surprise me if he sat him and played Reasoner

Im still fuming from yesterday. If we lose tomorrow, then series is over. I am confident that they will get the W tomorrow. I feel good about it for some reason. We have simply been the better team over the past 2 games. Nabby MUST step up to the plate here. He has to start making some saves.

Dee, you are a horrible blogger. If I send you a box of chocolate or some swedish fish, will you go away?

nah, Crosby doesnt dive:

You're a (frank)ing sook!

The ref's made bullpoop calls against the Pens that gave you game two. When you lose to the Penguins it's not because of the ref's, it's because they're better than you. The Islander player was hanging off Crosby on a very typical play that draws a penalty on every player in the league, not just the one you want to hate on.

Crosby is the best player in the world and he beat you, suck it up and stop being a poopty, whiney, blogger.

- trolleytracks

WIth or without bad calls the second game we should have won. We outplayed you both games. The fact that the game was decided in OT by a BS call in the PLAYOFFS is ridiculous.

You saw nearly the exact thing happen less than 30 seconds before to Streit...mysteriously there was no call. It doesn't get called every time which has been why this conversation continue's to come up.

As for the Carkner play. Stuff like that happens all the time in the playoffs. I remember getting a thumb jammed in my eye when I got checked into an opponents box during college years ago. I wouldn't expect much to come from it.

Has he ever been called for an unsportsmanlike penalty (diving)?

That was from the Pen's blog. The guy plays better and better and gets less and less icetime. Cappy clearly doesn't like him.

I don't think so.
But his diving was well documented by Ken Hitchcock and the Flyers a few years ago.

For the record, I don't think Crosby is a constant diver, but I do think the kid whines a lot. Hell, I just remember his interview talking about the Flyers last year during the series and he sounded embarrassing. I thought he was going to tear up as he said "I don't like them"

This is why I think cappy is NOT a good coach. It seriously boggles my mind how Grabner, one of the Isles best weapons, is playing a limited role in this series.

Any of you guys ever think that the Isles should take a chance trading for Ryan Miller?
I like Nabby a lot but he has been garbage in the playoffs htis year and he is getting up there in age. Not sure how much he has left in the tank. Miller clearly wants out of Buffalo. It would solidify our goaltending issue for quite a while. I dunno, mixed feelings about it but after this season, goaltending becomes a huge qustion mark.
