Ghost will be here in 3 years.

That's something to consider. That is, assuming he's not traded.

Money might not be an issue for Briere. I don't know the specifics of his situation, but it seems to me he doesn't want to uproot his family (assuming he even can). I expect a buyout is going to be the conclusion for Danny boy.
- BulliesPhan87

I think he's gotta realize it's either be uprooted or retire. If he waives, he can keep his outrageous salary for at least another season. All depends on how much he wants to milk this thing.

Tell the truth, watching these playoffs doesn't it make you realize how bad bryz sucks? He could make 25% of the saves some of these guys are making.

If someone's not traded, then our D is gonna get real small. Gus is already 5'11, Pulock is 6'0, Ghost is 5'11. Seems a bit soft to me. I suspect we either won't be drafting Pulock, or will be trading Gus or Ghost at some point.

Briere's a class guy, I know he'd waive. Might as well try anyway, no real harm in it. If he says no then buy out commences. I'd actually rather waive if I was Briere, it means he can keep his high-paying salary instead of having to go sign a new, much lower-cost contract.
- JAKEw1234

Actually from an economic standpoint and my understanding of the CBA its better for briere to be bought out because he gets the money from this contract (think the 5 million roughly in salary) and then he gets the money from the a new team on top of it.

What does suck about this situation is that we all know (presumably) briere wants to stay in the area because of his family. And because of that I dont see him moving out of the Eastern Conference, which means we then have to play against him in the playoffs and regular season. Knowing our luck he will score against us every night.

Now just speculating the team I could see him going to would be the Islanders but thats probably really biased because i would hate to see him on the Devils or Rangers .... i can deal with the islanders...

Not seein it. Bryz makes very athletic saves, it's a very Russian style. Bob does it, Nabokov does it.

Ha I don't really care what team he ends up on he's extremely easy to play against. Just get in his space and he falls over

Bryz... Athletic saves... Hahahaha! He's a stiff. Makes an occasional good save. Mason much quicker and more athletic

He wasn't even tested until the 3rd and by that point it was over. London had more shots in the 2nd period 24 than Barrie had the entire game.

Once we buy that bum out he will never be a starter in NHL again. Bank on it. Backup at best. I'd rather have biron than bryz

I'd like to see Subban do that to somebody who is more able & willing to defend themselves or let alone fight.

Bryz suffers from inconsistency not inability. He'll have a .950 one night and a .800 the next. Much of it can be blamed on the D infront of him. He lets in a few shots he should save under the armpit or because of bad positioning, but overall I'd call him far from a stiff. Remember the Russian national team still picked him over any other Russian this year.

That was pretty vicious subban was punching him hard in the face when he was helpless on the ground.

Well Turris is pretty helpless standing up when it comes to physical play so that wasn't shocking.

I wouldn't that is uncalled for in any teams uniform, he went after a non-fighter and then was hitting him when he couldn't defend himself not that he could anyway but didn't even have a chance.

Ottawa/Mtl is just going to continue to be a dirty/chippy series. Bourque gave an elbow to a Sens fwd earlier.
