Refs should just call penalties as they see them. It's that simple. I don't think anyone will disagree with you when it comes down to that? There is nothing worse then when officiating decides a game. - Cptmjl
Me too... but that's beating a dead horse. I say it every year. Hockey is a great game greatly influenced by the worst officiating in all of sports.

I think it's actually gotten better to an extent. Remember Paul Stewart and Kerry Fraser? Those two clowns thought they were a couple stars. For most NHL fans to know and remember their names says it all. They are referees, they aren't the stars nobody should know who the hell these guys are. I've seen those two ruin and decide many a playoff game. It used to drive me crazy. |

I always liked Bill McCreary's puck flip at the beginning if the game. |

Stewart was terrible. Funny thing, I worked at an ECAC Hockey school and actually met him since he was in charge of zebra scheduling for the league. I asked him what the hell his beef was with the Pens back when he was a zebra. He laughed and said my wife asked the same thing all the time - she grew up in Pittsburgh. |

there is no reason to panic. penguins need to play their game and not get drawn into the madness of the islanders game.
I am hoping that Bylsma tries to play Cooke-Sutter-Morrow together the whole game and play as much as possible. really have loved their line so far and have loved the way they have played against Tavares.
The Malkin Iginla experiment needs to end. there is no chemistry between them and there is no reason to keep trying them together. Iginla is more suited for Crosby and Kunitz or Dupuis is much more suited for Malkin.
also hoping Jokinen gets more time tomorrow and Despres plays. Engelland cost us two penalties yesterday and really wasn't effective in any way.
every team has the game we had yesterday. no reason to panic or to think that we will lose the series. this is why we play 7 games. penguins were in a similar situation in 2010 vs Ottawa. they went on the road and then won both games. penguins can do the same thing tomorrow. |

probably one of my favorite officials.
but my favorite think about Mick was when the penguins and lightning got into a line brawl and Mick went into the pile, pulled out a Lightning member, skated him over to the box and then throw him in. |

I'm gonna nitpick, Kunitz is just good, doesn't matter which guy he plays with, he will produce with either or. |

oh I agree, but I think he would benefit malkin a lot more than Crosby. malkin needs a guy who will crash the net, take 2 defenders with him and open space for malkin. in 2008 and 2009, Talbot or Fedotenko did that and Malkin benefitted from it.
Malkin needs a hard working guy like Kunitz who will do those things. Plus, he can skate and keep up with Malkin. Iginla is just a guy who needs a slower game to benefit him. Crosby has the ability to slow his game down while remaining effective, Malkin doesn't have that ability. |

One thing I didn't like in game two was DB switching up the lines too many times during the course of the game. Sutter-Cooke and Morrow was very very effective in game one, but didn't really see much time together in game two once the switches came.

I don't mind the line juggling that coaches seem to do, but when you have an effective and physical line against the other team's top line, you don't switch them up. IMO, Bylsma simply outcoached himself last night. you didn't need to change a lot from game 1.
the loss wasn't solely on him, I don't think ive ever seen a team turn the puck over for no reason than us last night. we weren't even under pressure and we still turned it over.
like I said, I think this team figured this series would be a joke after game 1. they were awoken after game 2 and I expect them to play like there is no tomorrow for game 3 and to keep playing like that for a while.
no need to get worried. penguins are still the better team. |

Time to settle down and get back to the goods habits. Expect nothing short of a good performance this sunday. Let's put on a good showing in Long Island and go from there. Still believe on my 4-1series prediction. |

And dupuis does the exact same thing as Kunitz. Neal and Iggy don't forecheck as hard as Kuni and duper. That's why I'd say put Kuni with Malkin, but just keep dupe with Sid. |

They rolled over and played dead. Once again they could not adjust to Sid's return and the defense forgot to play defense. This team for some reason seems to have a letdown when Sid comes back. Only thing I would change is to sit England and start Despres. - powerhouse
Well the obvious solution is to sit Crosby. |

I think the Pens get as mesmerised by seeing Crosby on the ice as any other team in the league and forget to play the body and control the puck. |

I love this team and watch every game. I am just hoping they play hard and take it to the Isles and don'y lay back like last game. Wish they played more consistent as it is playoffs and it's time to fight for every inch. They should know that by now. |
