That wasn't a bad bounce. It was a bone headed play by Edler
- Bieksa#3

I agree. I meant that as a generalization - namely, it seems like teams that make it to the Finals or win the cup always seem to have a bit of luck as well. It's just the nature of things and often can be the difference when a clearly superior team gets ousted.

That was unfortunate. Miss the empty net, never regain control, lose the game to the guy we should have gotten on our team. If we lose this series, Gillis should be fired for not finding a way to outbid SJ's 3rd round pick for a guy that is built for rough, tough playoff hockey.

Good on SJ. They were outplayed most of the game but kept it close and capitalized on their chances.

Uphill fight from here and obviously it's hard to like our chances. Still, if the Canucks can keep playing like they did tonight and actually score a few more goals, they have a hope.

Again, same shot that resulted in a scoring chance the previous two times.

It was blocked, and SJ got the bounce.

Fosco you know I like to bug you about Fosco and am usually just joking. but Burns was right in his face squared up to block the shot. It was a dumb play

Oh grow a set of balls for gods sake. It could easily be 2-0 for us.

Settle yourself down.

It was the same shot that just hit the post, and caused a scramble in front the last two times he took it.

It sucks it was blocked, but that's the way it goes.

- Fosco

Seems as tho he is always in front of the net "checking "a player or getting dominated when a goal is scored. He was suspect on at-least two of the goals tonight.

I was a believer, but after tonight......how you still defend him is beyond me....

Disagree. He threw it towards the net just like the previous two times from the exact same spot, which created legit scoring chances. This time it was blocked. Sucks, but it happens.

What does that have anything to do with saying we barely get a game?

Well, generally that's why teams lose hockey games. They get outscored. Either their goalie sucks and they give up too many or the fowards don't get the job done outscoring the other team. It's pretty much one or the other.

He was on the ice because he's out against the other team's top players.

He had nothing to do with the tying goal except that he failed to block the shot. He got out-battled by Thornton who was on his ass and made a great play on the other.

Right, but the puck went all off two feet before being acquired and passed up front for a 2 on 1.........good play?

The puck went passed him when it was blocked...

I guess you could fault him for overcommitting on the shot, but it wasn't an egregious error—it's the type of play that happens multiple times in a game. It just happened to result in a goal this time.

Sure, if Edler somehow single handily turns this series around...on the road...in a stadium in which opponents lose....then you will be correct.

But.. at this point Edler has done more harm then good, without a doubt.

Because if you're being completely honest, sure, we dominated them for long stretches in both games, but we still lost. Down 2-0 and going back to San Jose, I just don't see any reason for much optimism when only one player is scoring (the goal in game 1 was a flukey own goal by Torres) and any time the puck is in our end it's a fire drill. You really think it's going to get better from here when now we don't have the ability to match lines?

In one game he made one suspect play that unfortunately ended up in a goal. Sure, that's not great, but the negativity is completely overblown.

Last game he was getting comments like "beast" when it was 0-0.

Then the Canucks lose, and he's getting blamed—yet he still finished plus-1 in a 3-1 loss (so clearly wasn't a factor in the goals against), had 5 sog, over 27 minutes TOI, and 3 hits.

Does that look like a worthy scapegoat?
