He gave up one soft goal last night. The rest, he wasn't saving. I think Washington takes them out in six.
- Oneonta Penguin

I am just saying best goalie in the world would have saved all three. Second goal he should have had and the third well that looked like the Pens scoring on Poulin

I would love for Lundqvist to go somewhere else, but honestly where do you get that from? How can you possibly draw that conclusion?

i just don't understand where this choking in the playoffs is coming from. he has had zero help every year in the playoffs up until last year where he took us to the ECF and he didn't exactly choke when we lost...we just lost as a team.

as for the 2nd goal, yea it trickled in and it was tough to see but a breakaway is a breakaway. it's tough to blame that 100% on a goalie ever no matter how much the puck just trickles in.

it was a huge lift but we still dominated them for the majority of the game afterwards. i have nightmares about holtby

after last night's game though, it made me realize that we can easily beat the caps even if we lost 3-1. we all think its gonna be a brutal 6 or 7 game series thats back and forth and last night kinda confirmed our assumptions.

and you're forgetting that we owned the penguins 6-1 and outplayed them in a shootout loss the last 2 times we played em. but hey, all speculation and we'll see.

- rangerdanger94

Buffalo 'owned' the Pens the last two times they played them too, but I doubt they'd have a prayer in a 7 game series when everyone is actually giving a full out effort. I can tell you the Pens team we saw two nights ago was a much more focused team than the one we faced during the reg season.

didnt you predict the rangers to win last night?? you are starting to get a reputation as someone who consistently predict the future and how things are going to turn out; however, the kicker is that youve consistently incorrect. keep up the good work!!
- LetsGoIsles

well i was sorta right with my prediction. predicted hagelin to score and for the winning team to put up 3 goals. so statistically, like 34.7% of my predictions come true

Best in the business is a current title. This year, for my money I'd take Bobrovsky, Rask and Anderson over him. Don't get me wrong, Henrik is awesome...during the regular season.

**edit, I'd also throw Rinne in that class as well...

- keaner17

okeyyy.

i mean those goalies are good but your forgetting that the only reason the rags have ever made the playoffs sans last season is because of lundqvist. him, single-handedly. bobrovsky and rinne haven't done that this season. lundqvist did.

i think you are missing the point of hockey...its to win games/trophies, not awards
- LetsGoIsles

da vezina is a trophy

Honestly, I could care less what happens to the Rangers in any series that isnt against the Isles... Do I want them to win the cup? No, but do I care if they do? No. Isles wont get swept but we prob wont win the series. Should worry about ur team and not troll here cuz ur goalie choked... again.

yes the 2nd goal, a 1 on 0 breakaway, he definitely should've had. all goalies have a 100% save percentage against 1 on 0 breakaways.

Come on you don't really believe that do you? We haven't had Sid, Geno, Martin, Letang, Orpik, and now Neal... The one game flow they had!!! This team has had a million different lineups in the last month!

So he has ZERO help getting to the playoffs but then in the playoffs, you call out the team? Since he carries the team every year, why cant he carry the team in the playoffs? Contradicting urself here... Yes he helps greatly cuz without him the Rangers prob dont make the playoffs but letting up weak goals is his fault... he makes those saves and Toronto makes the right call last night and the Rangers win game 1

I tell you this if the Ranger lose in first round wait for the queen wanting out of NY. He has no allegiance to them and would leave in a heart beat
- kasperrko

I know you are smarter than this post I just quoted. Only way Hank leaves is if he gets traded.

He's not getting traded.

im just using the same logic as you. he gave up 1 soft goal in the first game of the playoffs this year so he's a career choker. tavares...did he even have a shot in game 1? well regardless if he did have 1, he didn't do anything either in the first game of this year's playoffs so he's also a career choker.

So he played with a slightly better team...that gets you in. As for Tavares being a choker...really? One career playoff game and he's a choker? We've seen Hank fail in big playoff games many times before....I think I'll wait until JT has had at least 2 or 3 series before labeling him.

Fixed the above paragraph...

Did you watch the game? Yes, he was pressing in his 1st Playoff game but it wasnt like he had open looks and shots... The Pens defense collapsed on him every time he touched the puck.
