This is why we should make them younger by inserting gardiner/frattin/hamilton.

I don't disagree per say, speed creates problems for Boston.

Younger? Team speed was not why they lost. But it was youth that got them here... I just do not see playoff hockey and youth having a successful cup run based on history.

Well technically Frattin and Hamilton are not that young. But as someone else pointed out earlier, those 3 players were in the lineup when the Leafs beat and lost in a shootout earlier in the regular season. All contributing with key assists. Also, Frattin was a beast in the AHL playoffs last year before the knee injury. If he can step his game up to that level again for these playoff games, the Leafs sure could use it.

Last night, the Leafs has the heebie-jeebies.

From 0 playoffs to the Boston Garden.... game 1 was going to be a loss. But Boston should have SMOKED the Leafs.... but they didn't. Many Leaf breakdown were not due to boston dominance but falling over their own feet and Phaneuf looked like ... well...... a moron.

These things will not be repeated.

Prediction: Bruins 3 Leafs 0............ in possible suspendable actions.

Bozak is our best (and only, really) shootout guy. He gets a breakaway and tanks it.
I'm not sure which briun it was but his stick was definitely by the gloves of Bozak. I don't think that's allowed anymore. It wasn't really a penalty in my opinion, but I've seen weaker calls than that this year.

Yup, was a penalty most of the time this year. The big ref boner was in the first, Rask played the puck 2 feet out of the trapazoid, no one noticed, not even the TV guys, it was early and people were all excited and no one noticed.

I may be an a-hole here... I am trying not to be but I AM SO GLAD another Canadian city finally sees that the league treats Boston differently than other teams. When Vancouver got screwed over, there was no outcry from other Canadian cities who thought the Canucks somehow deserved it.

I might be wrong, but he played the puck in front of the red line, took his stick off the puck, and let it slide until it went into the trapezoid. Therefore, technically, he didn't play the puck in the trapezoid. He kind of circumvented the rule.

I think it seemed to be a general concensus that Kostka should sit out more than Fraser. Although he had a bad game too. But he isnt consistantly poopty like Kostka.

Been lurking for a while... figured this was as good a place to commiserate with fellow leaf fans.

Saw a lot of panic from the boys last night with all their give-aways and failed clearing attempts. Bad line changes to boot. I feel we'll see a little more bravery and discipline form this team on Sat.

Also... hopefully more skill.
