Just caught the highlights. Those Bruins goals looked pretty soft. I hate to say it but LU looked pretty good last night. That has to piss some fans off.

I'm pulling for you as TOR winning is good for the sport and your fans bleed hockey. Plus I hate to see the cup not get passed around. Hope your tender gets going here.

Kostka was seemingly on the ice for every good bruins scoring chance, and 3/4 bruins goals. I guess O'Byrne's 2 points and +4 in 8 games werent good enough? I'd be shocked if O'Byrne and his 6'5 235 frame aren't in for game 2.

I would like Gardiner in the lineup, pretty sure he's done just fine against the Bruins. Sit Kostka. Leave Fraser in, hopefully Franson isn't hurt.

Just checked they're 1-0-1 with him in, and now 0-4 with him out against the Bruins.

meh, wasn't Reimer's best game, but it probably didn't matter, result of the game was never in question. He was just one of 19 Leaf played who played poorly. They all better get going for Saturday's game.

ya it was only the 2nd, and score was tied, but still plenty of reason for frustration by that point. When you chase the other team around, never have the puck, and get casually hammered to the ice when you go near them, you start to tilt
- BestRapperAlive

i dont know about you, but i usually play better after i get hit or when my teams playing bad

not sure why, just time to step up i think

was playing in a 3 on 3 tourny just stayed back this guy speared me, and is like what you have no goals trying to chirp me. Went and scored 3 goals in 5 mins and laid him on his ass and we won

Reimer's not the issue. That Richard head kostka is, and stupid line changes.

There's obviously something psychological at play with Boston. At this point, I'd say the problem is nearly 100% mental.

We played competent hockey for most of the year, putting up 57 points in 48 games. That prorates to 97 points in a typical year.

In most years, a 97 point team is a pretty good team. A 4/5 first round matchup should be pretty close.

For whatever reason, we turn into a bumbling, flailing circus whenever we go to Boston. There are teams that are every bit as good as the Bruins (or better) that we routinely play better.

I don't know what can be done to fix it, but it goes beyond the roster. I mean, that was simply a different team than we've seen all year.

GTFO bro, Luongo would have been Reimer's backup.

Fraser deserves another shot.

Do you go with Gardiner and Liles or one or the other? And I would think O'Byrne is a better fit to replace Kostka.

I guess if Franson is hurt, that solves the question, though. Both PMD would be in out of necessity.

Stick another goalie in there and it would've been 6-1 or 7-1. Dude, I know you hate the idea of him being a #1 goalie, but what else would you call a guy with a .926 spct facing 30 shots a game?

But only one of those goal looked "stoppable." I would have happily taken him over Reimer- not sure if it would have been the difference though as you pointed out.

I thought someone would say, "JVR scored last night, that must piss some Flyers fans off"

Nope, we're happy for him and we like Schenn. Worked out well for both teams thus far

Anyways, best of luck.

What goalies are you putting in there?? He was solid...but he nothing any other goalie couldn't do.
He had a good short season...that's it.
He and everyone else needs to step up their play.

Nonis has to make significant changes in the off season.

Teams beat boston with speed, not slow d-men who can't handle a hard forecheck. Which Boston had going all night. This goes beyond the whole PMD argument. Montreal dresses 3 PMDs against Boston and does fine every time. All night the Bruins were hard on our d with the forecheck, the only guy who seemed to be able to handle it was Phaneuf, and he couldn't do it all game. At least with Gardiner you know he'll skate it out, sure there will be 2 on 1's coming our way, but how many times did you see the Leafs feed the puck up hastily because of the one man forechecking only to give it to the 4 Bruins in the neutral zone? We weren't beaten because the Bruins were strong in front of our net, we were beaten because we couldn't even break out and get past the red line aside from solo rushes by grabo and any other leaf forward that by some miracle broke through the 4 Bruins in neutral ice.

They played a regular season game in the playoffs.

Not a good idea.

Hopefully that, along with a couple days off, wakes them up

I honestly have no clue, there's been absolutely no info on Schneider's injury and even if he is ready to go who knows what AV will decide since Luongo apparently played a solid game. I'd expect Schneider to start if healthy, he's been the team's MVP this season.
