umm ok if you come out with no life the coaching staff has to get some blame for not pumping the guys up. They were flat footed and were not interested in playing.

Capuano needs to coach bottom line something he does not have a clue about. He needs to strategize another area he has no clue about. He needs to come up with some set plays another area he has no clue about. The list goes on and on and half the blame is on him for doing nothing. Not switching up lines not calling a timeout not even yelling in there ears. It was like it is ok here have Fanta

- kasperrko

if these PROFESSIONALS dont know that they need to come out with energy for a hockey game.. let alone a playoff game.. The coach is the least of the worries.

noted may 2015 in my calendar

nah the rangers thread is slow and you guys reply quickly.

one must assume that either letang or malkin will be gone in summer of 2014, correct?

- rangerdanger94

Hey major difference between the Islanders and Rangers and why the Rangers will always be light years ahead is because your GM and owner will go out and make a trade to better the club. Or GM and owner tries and finds the cheapest way to put a team together. We could have used a veteran another D man or something at the trading deadline but nope everything is all roses here

someone will offer iginla a lot of money for a year or 2.

the question is how good is that team...if that team is a potential contender, i can see him going there. if not, i can see him staying in pitt for a little cheaper.

- rangerdanger94

Wouldn't shock me if he headed back to Calgary. The Pens have $22 million committed to three forwards alone. I'm not saying it's impossible, but tough sledding none the less.

the 53 Bruins (or whatever he said) was a ripoff? I'm not following. It's happened before so it will happen again. Isles in 5.

no no...you and your business had someone claiming you offered a full refund for some sort of voodoo poop but you never paid em; weird, i would have thought of all people to know, you would...glad i could help!!!

Yeah but you still need that coach to help you do that. Come on the Giants have Coughlin in there ear and they have a before game ritual where he fires them. You got torteralla as well firing up the team. Jack knows nothing about that. He lets Weight do that for him. JAck is useless and seriously this team don't need him.

Well, I think that keeping Crosby-Malkin-Letang is really what you need. Dupuis is my example. He's a very good complimentary 3rd liner with speed and some finish. Put him in the Penguins lineup and the dude is basically a 30 goal scorer.

I'm not saying anyone can be a superstar with Crosby, but you don't need to have top-line talent (though it would help). I would think they won't let go of any of Crosby, Malkin, MAF, or Letang. Agree Orpik could go, maybe Kunitz. Doubt Morrow and Iginla both stay, maybe 1. They'll make it work somehow.

- jmatchett383

hell if tavares can turn boyes into a potential 20-30 goal scorer and moulson into a multiple 30 goal scorer, then crosby can turn colton orr into a 40 goal scorer.

He apparently sold his house in Calgary. I tend to agree he doesn't sign with the Pens, but I don't think he's going back to Calgary.

Exactly, this had nothing to do with a far superior team winning.

All our coaches fault

you need 2 to tango. not sure your management wants to give up on any of your blue chip prospects and besides them, you guys don't really have much to offer up to other teams. you have picks but i assume your management wants to hold onto those as well.

and having a GM with the nads to go out and make a splash doesn't always work *cough* flyers *cough*

The major difference is the Rangers owner spends money... Isles owner doesn't.

Give Garth another 20 million... I think he might spend it!!!

FWIW, for you guys mad at your coach and they players for not being ready, I don't think it was the case. I thought the first few minutes, the Islanders were OK, but then they gave up the first powerplay, and then the first goal, the building was rocking, and things just got away from them, and before they knew it it was 4-0...I know its cliche, but I don't think the lack of experience in that situation can be overstated. The Islanders don't really have anyone who has "been there done that" that they can look to when things start to go south, including the coach who can say "OK, just take a deep breath". Add that to the way the Penguins are playing right now, and they are going to make a lot of teams look bad.

Reasoner last night was two gears behind anyone else on the ice, horrible tripping penalty that put them down two and took away any chance at a comeback and then took a run at a player who'd done nothing to deserve it and stuck out his knee. The fact that he missed is irrelevant, he needs to be suspended, scratched and gone from the team.

I expected the Isles to come out and be a bit overwhelmed, and it definitely looked bad. Whether they can play a tighter game on friday will tell us whether or not it'll be a repeat of their sweep in 94 when they were shelled by the rangers in every game.

Tough loss, learning experience and move on. without reasoner. ever again.

Maybe, but I think Morrow is a better bet to stay at a lower number in a 3rd line role.
