He's certainly worth Fleischmen money on the open market, but he won't test it. He's a loyal soldier that loves the city and the team and sees opportunities for cups until he retires. I am extremely confident he resigns at a bargain.

If Boogard is worth 1.5 Mill a year (according to the Rangers), Duper is worth 5 Mill or more.
- kencan98

if dipietro is worth 67.5 mil, then lundqvist is worth 50000 mil.

in all seriousness though, boogard was a bit of an overpayment but at most 500k. theres a difference between that and duper get 5+ mil (which is 1.5+ mil of an overpayment).

our top 9 is pretty solidified.
Zuccarello - Richards - Nash
Hagelin - Stepan - Callahan
? - Brassard - Dorsett

with the ? being Kreider, Miller, Clowe, Boyle, Pyatt, or Fast. one could argue Dorsett will settle on the 4th line in which case we still have more than enough forwards for those final 2 spots.

this isn't the NBA. any team can beat any team (well...maybe not the isles against the pens) and the pens are easily the 2nd best team behind the blackhawks and arguably even better. especially if crosby comes back.

i think the ducks, pens, bruins, blues, and yes...the rangers...all have a chance of beating the hawks.

If we're applying Sather logic then he gets the Gomez/Drury deal. Or at least What Redden got. Or gaborik. Or Richards. Jesus they've managed to overpay for minimal return even after a cap was installed.

No way. How could they possibly compete? We just care about this match up.

Dorsett is not that good and a 4th liner, you sure u want him as your top 9, Rags just have a good top 6, top 4 Dmen,

i wouldn't put gaborik on that list. and richards is yet to be known. but yes...we did overpay pretty seriously for gomez/drury/redden.

in the end though, sather was able to flip gomez for mcdonagh and stepan's emergence can be all credited to drury's mentoring and guidance. as for redden...yea that was bad.

dorsett potted 15 goals last season which would be great for a 3rd liner if he can somehow repeat. eventually, i think he'll get slotted on the 4th line and probably should be there but a clowe - brassard - dorsett line would be pretty awesome.

if dorsett slots in on the 4th line, kreider and miller should take those final 2 spots.

I honestly could see LA or STL beat Chicago. I think the goalies for CHI have been playing way above their level all season.

No argument from me on that one. DiPietro was the biggest bust in recent history. And Hank is worth every penny, probably much more. He's the rock of the Rangers and that's not an insult to the team, it just is what it is.

Unless the Rangers offer him $5 million per and he'll be gone...

Where is the link champ that says he wants 5 million per year?

They didn't look that great last night against the Wilds backup although he did play very well.

I don't think the Bruins can. Very unimpressive. I'm not sure the Rags could. The only chance would be the King standing on his head and stealing the series, which is possible.

He could be referring to this one.
http://insidepittsburghsp...team-friendly-deal/57426/

But that talks about a 4 Million per season deal and it says nothing about Duper asking for it. It's pure speculation by the author.

He does make 1.5 now so I think doubling that would be reasonable and I'd probably go up to 4 if that's what it takes to get done. At 5 I may think twice

Big difference between saying Dupuis wanting 5 million and a writer speculating it, wouldn't you say? He deserves a raise without question. I'm willing to bet he stays in Pittsburgh for 3-3.5 per over going somewhere else for 4 million. People don't realize he loves playing in Pittsburgh and why not?

Jesus Christ.

Horrible game tonight. Played just like they ended the season except they're playing a real team. Thank God it's only one game, if we can somehow steal Friday's game then, we're right back in it.

A real let down tonight. I didn't exactly expect to win, I didn't exactly expect this.

I agree. We've played better at home all season long.
- kencan98

Our record on the road is the only reason we're still playing. We finished a game under .500 at home.

Pascal Dupius (sp) is also a good hockey player. The Wild let one get away from them.

Geez, 1.5 million.

Exactly what the Isles are paying Carkner for 3 years.

But, your keen insight and incomparable hockey savvy have produced yet another fine analysis.

The Islanders looked and played tight, and combine that with the fact that the Pens are a deeper, more talented team with gobs of playoff experience, and you get what you got. I expect the Islanders to be better Friday, but Nabby needs to play a LOT better for them to not get run out of the building again.

well post-deadline rags spanked you guys 6-1 and then, imo, outplayed you guys the next game in the 2-1 SO and we kept that same consistent play up until the last game of the playoffs. so if you guys have a legit chance at beating them, and we have a legit chance at beating you, then we also have a legit chance at beating them.

He's got nothing left!!
He was playing in the AHL the last 2 seasons!!
No real team would take a chance on him!!
