I would have had the boys running at him, every chance last night. He and Hamilton. I don't know if Hamilton was dressed, do not remember hearing his name. - bixll
exactly - I think I woke up my kids when I throat punched Phaneuf right through the TV!!!! - Garnie
It was unbelievable... it was like they were playing shinny just tossing it up the middle.
I really really really hope this was all nervousness and they get it out of their system. I think last night clearly showed that Boston is a deeper/better team. But I really hope the Leafs can make a series out of this and get some experience.
Still holding out hope they can get some lucky bounces and somehow win, but I'd settle for a hard fought 6 or 7 game series

Wow did anybody see Fraser's blazing back peddling speed???
Me either!! - Garnie
Yeah brutal.
Kostka's behind the back to no one , fall down and take a teammate with him on the pp was terrible. Kostka ices the puck for no reason WAY too much. He can make a play on the pp, why was he even dressed? I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him in the lineup.

Boston only looked that good due to the leafs feeding them breakaway passes all night..bounce them 1st 5 turnovers off the (frank)ing boards and the game is totally different...once they score #3 and #4 the leafs looked down and it was over.

The 4 games this year that you skipped over they weren't . How convinient.
And yeah they were last night, no one is saying otherwise. - burn
I know its been a long time since the playoffs, but using the regular season isn't a measuring stick that translates well into playoffs. Its a completely different animal. While the outcomes of our regular season games have been better than past seasons, the Bruins were easily the better team in those games. Whether they ended up winning or losing.
Look, I want to the Leafs to win as much as anybody here. Probably more. Bullpoopting myself into believing something that isn't true just doesn't cut it for me. When it comes to the playoffs, and what the Bruins can do (as evidenced in their cup win) the Leafs are far inferior.
seemed like every 2nd or 3rd play a Leafs player was just falling down out of the blue....with no one around them (except maybe another Leafs player ) I suspect snipers.
Boston out played the Leafs but the Leafs had a big hand in that as they played like nervous little children. Hopefully they man up in game two.

When you make it easy for the Bruins, then it's not fair to suggest that Boston wasn't doing enough. If someone is constantly handing me a beer, why the (frank) would I get up and get a beer myself? If I had to, I would, but you keep passing me beers and im just going to sit on my ass all night and kick back.
Suggesting it was just mistakes and turnovers, as if Boston wasn't forcing or pressuring them into it, is completele blindness.

What was bullpoop? The fact that the leafs gave the puck away repeatedly uncontested?

Didn't you do the same? - burn
Ive been saying all along the Bruins dominance over us, as well as their playoff experience will over match anything we can throw at them. Its more about what they have done, and what they can do in the playoffs. Last night wasn't a fluke, and it wasn't because Toronto let them win.

If they fix that then things can change - burn
Okay Burnsie, okay. The Leafs were awesome, and they let the Bruins win. Boston didnt pressure or force any of those mistakes. The Toothfairy did.
If the Leafs were doing them uncontested, then Boston didn't need to do it themselves, now did they? Hard to take a puck away from someone when they keep passing it to you. Common sense. When that happens, it's hard for Boston to fight for the puck. You can't battle someone who is trying to help you. It ceases to be a battle.

The odd man rushes were mind boggling. Countless 2 on 1's, 3 on 1's, 4 on 2's in a playoff game is unacceptable. Many due to ill advised pinches and terrible, terrible turnovers.
I don't usually subscribe to the "we beat ourselves" theory, and I do give credit to Boston to coming out and palying a solid game. But I will agree they were making terrible decisions while not even under great pressure.
