I would take the physical presence Boston has throughout the lineup over Toronto's any day.

We have 2 goons who don't do much else very well and probably should not be on the ice. You remove Orr and McClaren and the Leafs are not tougher than they have been for the past 8 years.

We didn't lose due to toughness...we lost because we dump the puck up the middle when we have a lead and we have 2 easy board plays...nope...let's do the (frank)ing flick it up the middle...but they flicked it like a 5 yr old who's trying to raise it for the 1st time..wow!!!! Not sure I can watch another (frank)ing game.

The league really has a problem now... can they really suspend a Boston guy.

Imagine if a Ranger does something suspension-worthy tonight... the League offices will implode.

- Aetherial

Ference should get at least a game.

Hell he should be suspended for being a complete asshat.

... and Boston didn't look the slightest bit perturbed. Physicality is more than just dishing out hits, it is winning the puck battles along the boards, front of the net, behind the net etc.

Ah but see, you can't play the "what if" card: Orr and McLaren are playing and they will continue to play and probably more minutes each game.

Again, not saying the Leafs are the "better" team, but can we save the boo-hoo Leafs rhetoric until a) the series is over (and I still think we're going to lose) b) they start playing like they did in the season series against Boston?

We can beat them...just don't let us have the puck and keep 1 line on the ice the whole game. That way we won't give it away at the red line or get caught on bad line changes. Like really NHL guys going to the bench when the other team has a 4 on 2??? Like really??? Like huh?

I thought Don Cherry made a good point last night. Carlyles desire to match lines lead to alot of errors on Torontos part.

Toronto had the lead, then they thought it was going to be a cake walk and started trying to make fancy (frank)ing flip passes up the middle. Kostka's scared of the puck and Fraser lack of foot speed and Phaneuf's usual brain dead give aways killed us.

Ya... it definitely looked like Boston put it into another gear while the Leafs were still playing regular season hockey. And end of the season where they were playing awful regular season.

I've been a big fan of Fraser all year but last night was his worst game of the season by far. Hoping its jitters and he can bounce back. Kostka needs to have a seat for O'byrne in my opion.

The Lupul grabovski experiment needs to end as well. Put him back with Kadri. I'm done with Grabovski, atleast for this year. Hopefully he can rebound next year. but we need Kadri and Lupul to provide some secondary scoring

Please Carlyle, keep Kostka out of the lineup. Please. I think I lost my voice yelling at his stupidity last night.

Im not going to sit here and call out one or two guys. This was a team loss.

As for the lead, we got a lucky bounce early and then reality set in. That game last night was far from close.

Bruins played good, I'm not knocking that, but we really beat ourselves.

There were a LOT of unforced turnovers. Even Carlyle said "guys were falling down when nobody was near them" and Lupul said that they were playing like they had "no time" to move the puck when clearly they did.

We outhit them, beat them at the draw, but took too many penalties and flat out handed the puck to them every chance we got. Yes, the Bruins forecheck looked pretty good at time, but they weren't grinding us down with their cycle play and dominating us physically like we've seen in so many games in the past, we just coughed up the puck in the neutral zone and well, it's not hard to sustain pressure when you're playing in one half of the rink.

Niemi stopped 29 -30 and .967%, was not even thought of for a star. Interesting.

I agree, but it would have been interesting to see if there might have been a slight momentum shift had JvR not hit the post...
