YUCK! I'm not a fan of either to tell you the truth. If it happens then I'll stomach it but until then I don't want them gumming up my fantasies. Thanks...

I think Yandle would add a lot to this team. He'd add a dynamic offensive weapon to the defense. But not at the reported cost. I couldn't be less interested in Byfuglien.

Why does Carlson's name come up to? He is a good young defensemen playing on a good team. I think we are relegated to Yandle or Buff this summer

Buff? I'd rather have the D the way it is now than give up assets for a guy like that.

Like others have said, it ain't happening. Shattenkirk is one of the best young defensemen in the game, but even he can't touch Pietrangelo's ceiling. Bouwmeester is probably only there short-term to take some pressure off the kids. The Blues have everything set up perfectly moving forward... why would they ruin it all to add a few young forwards when they are already chock-full of young forwards.
- Tomahawk

this is exactly what their GM said after they picked up Leopold and Bouwmeester, that they were asking an awful lot from their 2 third year defenseman and they got the vets to help take some pressure off them.

I'd probably trade Mez straight up for him... You have to admit Buf's stock is super low right now... He's either gonna bounce or he's gonna fall through the ice when he hits it...

I guess the way to realistically go at this (I still think that trade offer would at least generate interest ) is to do what we did with Schenn, and take a defenseman with awesome potential who has been poor on their current team, and try to turn around their games. I'd rather it be someone younger than Buff, but if we were to turn around his work ethic we could have a solid top pairing d man with still 5-7 more years of production left.

Shattenkirk arguably played as well as Piet this season. J bo is elite imo. Jackman is awesome, Leopold, and Polak are both solid. Even if they had Mez or Coburn instead of Piet their defense would still be awesome.
- JAKEw1234

that is a player they likely will let walk

the rest of them even Ian Cole they will re sign

Washington wont let Alzner go.. he is their top shutdown d-man... Also, there isnt really a need for Alzner...

Three names I would look into..

Bogosian, Leddy, Kulikov.

Well in that case, sure. I'd just hate to see them give up young guys like Couts, Schenn, etc. for Buff.

ehh... I don't know. I don't really understand all that much about Alzner, I haven't really watched him play... If we can get him for cheap than why not though

Leddy is a long shot, Bogosian and Kulikov are untouchables. Ditto Alzner. I don't even think COL would be willing to trade Erik Johnson, even with Seth Jones coming in.

Anybody else impressed with the game ex-Golden Gopher (if you didn't know where he played before the NHL you certainly would have after watching last night's game thanks to Pierre and his obsession with constantly reminding the viewing audience of players' origins) Nick Leddy had last night?

Bogosian. Yes please
I don't really know about Leddy, but Kulikov looks pretty good.

Rooting for the Leafs (very hard to type that) but the B's are going to annihilate them.

Like all three.. add Shattenkirk atop the list and that's my Flyers D-man wish list for the summer (in that order).

Firstly, I would like to see colorado keep Johnson. It'd be fun to watch 2 1st overall D men play together, even though Johnson has played unimpressively to this point in his career. Every time someone suggest players, though, you're always right there to point out that those players are "untouchable", but I think no players are untouchable in this sport. Please explain though, why are Bogosian and Kulikov untouchable? And if so many players are untouchable, who is a viable option, in your opinion? Last offseason, would you have said the Luke Schenn was untouchable?

I think Leddy would be our best bet... They are stacked defensively.. and he is an RFA

Obviously rooting for the Isles, Leafs, and Caps

hard to decide between Habs and Sens
I guess Sens in a coin flip

I think Bogo is untouchable... but not AP untouchable. I dont think Kulikov is untouchable at all... and love his total game.. kid is a beast.

Leddy is a very good skater, who plays a very sound two way game... Kinda like Paul Martinish player. He isnt gonna be a superstar, but has the potential to be an allstar two-way d-man IMO.

i'm with you on all of those except I don't think I want the Leafs to win (unless something occurs in-series that makes me change my mind) and I am solidly behind the Sens.

Not at that Cap hit. No interest in that kind of player. He's exactly what this team doesn't need.
