A bit yeah. I didn't get to see a lot of the games last night but what I did see proved to me why we aren't there. No way could we have hung with the Hawks last night...
And I think Quick needs a hug. Banging your head on the ice after a play is never a good sign.

You'd think everyone could use a little time away. We've chatted every subject into the ground by now haven't you?

Yep, Lauri has an upside, crunching serious minutes with a ton of responsibility isn't it yet. He needs to take lessons from Rinaldo on when not to take those dumb penalities. When his third cross check hit Ott and Ott hit the floor like a 2 year old in a tantrum I was miffed at Lauri. The refs let him get away with 2 cross checks, then a vet taunts him into a third. The refs are taking that idiot off the ice! And I couldn't blame them even with the embelishment.
I do think he has the size, and the snarl. He just needs to work on his positioning and his discipline.

Talked about that the other day. Lauridsen was obviously trying to assert himself physically to make an impression. But he was overboard. And teams will target him to draw penalties, as we saw Ott doing. He needs to learn to be smarter and when to get involved in that stuff after the whistle, and when not to. And play physical between the whistles, not after when not neccessary.

The Hawks are a pretty deep team.

If their goaltending holds up (that first goal Crawford gave up was pretty awful), I think they're gonna win it. I don't think anyone in the East (including Pittsburgh) can hang with them for 7 games.

Wow. I just got some pretty awesome news

since the Mem Cup is in SToon this year, my dads friend who kinda helps runs things there offered me a job to sell programs at every Mem Cup game May 17th-26th for the 1st period! I get 20% of the profits from all the total programs that were sold!
So i will be able to watch 2/3 periods every game, and over those 9 days theres games (no games on 25th) i will probably make atleast $1000, and i get in free, so i'll be making money and i get to watch the future stars of the NHL for free
Really stoked. Big Junior fan

They barely won game 1 vs the Wild. It's wide open.

I'll be surprised if Pitt and Chi make it to the SCF.

Chicago controlled play after the 1st period.

Minnesota's goaltender (the backup, btw, because Backstrom hurt himself in warmups) was the 3rd star because without him, they'd have been toast.

Well we all know that the Islanders are gonna stomp Pit into the ice so that's no question.
But I do think CHI is gonna go pretty far.

Their mobility on defense stands out all the time. They are quick and clean retrieving pucks

Its my birthday that week as well
I tried so hard to get tickets... i actually planned on getting them once they came out, but the day i thought they came on sale it was actually 2 days previous the tickets were on sale... and the only seats left were like the top of the rink, last 7 rows, and they werent cheap lol.
ill probably have to stand somewhere since the place will obviously be sold out, but really im ok with that. And one of my buds will be selling programs as well so it'll be nice to have a guy there

They aren't even sure Harding can play in two days because he's under going intense treatments for his MS. They leave him exhausted. There's been some talk their minor league goalie, whose name I forget, may have to start.

They needed OT to win at home vs the 8th seed who was playing their backup goalie.

Happy to see a young player not being intimidated and using his physical ability, certainly. In the big picture and long term, they'll want him to play under control and with discipline. Maye you don't care, but that's what's important in the game, and a part of the development curve.

That game was also played after Chicago rested a lot of their key players in the last game of the year.

In other words, if Minnesota were going to steal one, it had to be last night.

Chicago in 5.
