The streams are unlicensed/illegal and they have the audacity to charge people for them... if that doesn't get the NHL's (and other league's) legal teams in action, I don't know what would. When (not if) that site gets shut down, I'd hate to have my name, address and cc# on their books.

You have that backwards. Most top defenseman are drafted outside of the top 10. And a lot outside of the first round all together.
- MJL

I dunno it's actually more spread around than I thought
Doughty - 2nd overall
Suter - 7th overall
P.K. - 43rd overall
Pietrangelo - 4th overall
Letang - 67th overall
Weber - 49th overall

It makes the draft position ideal for drafting the next big thing very difficult to pinpoint. If the Flyers are gonna try to draft the next big d man, maybe they should just try to get as many picks as possible and just take a whole bunch of defense men and keep trying

Here's a question for you all, if Luke Schenn worked on his offensive game, and worked to become more of a two-way threat, could any of you see him one day being regarded as "elite"? Or is his potential just not near there?

I've proposed some crazy deals, but Couts and 2 1st round picks for Hamilton would be crazy.

What reason would Boston have for even wanting to do a deal that they have no need to really make.

value. That is why i mean that we must overpay, because otherwise they have no reason to.

They still don't need to make the move. They are also pretty loaded within their system. It would be a move just to make a move & a move they have no reason or any desire to make at all.

You don't make that move at all as the Bruins GM if you had any common sense.

As much as we could or probably should make a move the cost it would take for what we need it might just be too much that we will need to draft, develop, & possibly even deal with some tough times for a little bit.

If not I move on and look elsewhere. I'm in the corner that doesn't think the team is really that far off. It certainly would've helped to have the 5th and 35th picks in the draft, but love how somoe of the young guys played with heart at the end. Holmy has to continue to show patience.

Yep, make the right move, not just make a move to make a move.

On an unrelated note, both games on TV are a blowout.

Chiarelli especially... he's the smartest GM in the sport and he knows Hamilton's going to be special.

Yes he is and it's the 2nd straight year he has 2 players in the OHL finals. Seth Griffith (London) & Dough Hamilton (Niagara) from last year. This year Seth Griffith (London) & Anthony Camara (Barrie) this year.

Not to mention Malcolm Subban.

Craig Button did a mock draft for TSN. He has the Flyers going off the board to take Samuel Morin -- with Ristolainen, Pulock, Morrissey and Hägg still available. Considering that most projections have Morin going in the second round (perhaps even where the Flyers would pick at number 41), that would be a shocker.

Couts is exactly the type of young player I want the Flyers to build around. I like Hamilton, but Couts and 2 more 1sts is excessive. I mean Couts did stone Malkin last year which is no small accomplishment.

Yup. As exciting as the two West games were last night, these two have been so lopsided as to be barely watchable.

I would think at 11 they could definately trade down in that scenario.

I mentioned Morin some place as a 2nd rounder & most stuff I saw also suggests that as well.

At 11 if Ristolainen is still not taken he'd be the choice if not Pulock & mahybe Hägg before Morrissey.

Simon Nolet would have to be pushing pretty damned hard for that to happen @11... even Frederik Gauthier would be considered a reach at that pick.

I'm not so sure I think Frederik Gauthier could be considered but if they would consider him they should consider Kerby Rychel

I would think so. Not sure why they wouldn't trade down as much as 10 spots if that's the direction they would want to go.

Pittsburgh is clearly better then the Isles. Reimer has not had a good game for Toronto.

Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if Hamilton ended up being the best player taken from that entire draft. Niedermeyer in a Pronger body, really hard-working, honest kid, scholar-athlete, Olympic pedigree, what's not to like.

The fact that he's more or less on par with Couturier right now in terms of development despite being a defenseman is pretty impressive in and of itself.

Some extra picks would be nice. It's something I've mentioned a lot to get some more to add to the bare prospect pool.

Between Risto, Pulock, Morrissey, and Hagg, do you think it would be wise to trade down and for more 1st rounders, maybe from columbus? Do you think we would be able to get more players that are on the top of our list this way? EDIT: Or do you think most of the players we want would be gone by pick 18 and 24 or whatever it was.
