God, I hate myself right now. I find myself rooting for the Sharks vs Vancouver. I know we don't like the 'Couv round these parts, but living where I live, I cannot stand Shark fans. It's like someone giving me the option of choosing between syphilis and gonorrhea.

I'm watching that one. It's getting rough out there on the ice. The officials are blowing calls.

No, you can't send cash the other way. You can retain salary/cap hit of who you're trading.
- EKolb13

Looks like we are both right, kinda...

from capgeek:
RETAINED SALARY TRANSACTIONS

Teams can retain a percentage of a contract’s remaining cap hit, salary and bonuses in trades. The following stipulations apply:

No more than 50 per cent of the salary/cap hit can be retained
Salary/cap hit cannot be retained on more than three contracts in one season
The aggregate cap hits retained cannot exceed 15 per cent of the upper limit
A contract can be traded only twice where salary/cap hit is retained

Yeah, no joke. Right off the bat with the Kesler slash on Pavelski, followed by a high stick by Kesler on Torres.

Just like the Kings vs Blues series; let 'em all beat the hell out of each other and hope each series goes seven games.

Exactly. Both go 7 games and have numerous injuries. I think I want San Jose, too. Not sure who I want in LA vs. St. Louis. Maybe St. Loiuis because they seem more beatable

Sharks vs Nucks will not be for the weak....WOW..i hope they go 7; there will nobody standing...

Charging must not be penalty anymore as both teams are more interested in running each other and not the puck. Torres is throwing himself all over the ice. Resident jerkoffs Kassian and Weese doing there thing. Sharks look quick and are not going to take the usual SH!!!!TT from the nucks.

Any of anahaim, st. Louis, San Jose, and Vancouver will no doubt be banged up by the time they reach conference finals, but they will also have a lot of confidence in beating 2 very good and tough teams to get there. Sort of like LA last year. San jose looked bad for big parts of this season, but they look really good tonight. I wouldn't want to face any of these 4

Sharks play a smart and gritty game with Niemi doing his thing and walk away with Gm 1 3-1; Nuck 1st round elimination would be oh so sweet...bye bye AV and maybe their GM...

I specifically followed Torres tonight and he never stops skating and looking to take the body; on top line with Marleaux and Cloture when Havlat went down

If I were a Canuck fan I would hate AV so much. Drawing up plays at the end of games he stands there with his richard in his hand chewing gum. What a loser that guy is. but hey, please keep him around

As much as I hate the guy, when he's not cheap shotting he's an asset, no question. I'd much rather SJ win this series, much better matchup than Vancouver for the Hawks

Again...why would you want this as a Hawk fan?

I hope those two clowns are running the show in Vancouver for many years to come.

Think it was Umberger...odd thing about Stevens is...he retired with fog issues between his ears, probably a cumulative effect from all the earthquake hits he authored.

A sample of the nuck board angst tonight: This team sucks to the max
Every single person in this organization needs to go and we need something new
Im tired of losing because of the same damn reason...
The people at the front office are too stubborn to look at the bigger picture and thats why we are cupless

Yep cupless for a reason....nothing to protect; so Phil your point stands!!

The West is so good this year, I'm afraid whoever comes out alive is going to have nothing left. The top 6 teams could all make the cup final, while only three IMO (Pit, Bos, NYR) in the east. Detroit is lucky
