He sucks. Dress Carbomb. - nickmo2699
In OT, where Bollig was getting to pucks, Carcillo would have been on a respirator. Just saying. There's a lot to be said for energy, strength and fresh legs.
Look I will NOT argue that Bollig isn't the most expendable/replaceable forward on the ice for the Hawks. But . . . who ya got that really would have been appreciably better last night? Maybe, in some situations, Carcillo.
Seems like a silly argument. To say Bollig can't hit people is silly, and wrong. It actually isn't easy to line a guy up and mash him. A lot of it is timing and luck. |

I have a family member who has it and the problem with MS is that you can have a flare up at anytime (Sudden weakness/loss of sensation for her). For them anything from heat, to exertion, to something they eats/drinks can trigger one. So 60 minutes of an activity may be ok but 65+ can trigger it. - Hawks64
Thanks for sharing. I don't pretend to know much about MS. I know people who suffer from it, but they've had it for 20+ years. As I said, I don't pretend to know what it's like to carry that burden. I credit the kid for his approach. |

And which one of the wimps for chicago was going to step in and kick konopkas ass? Thats funny stuff right there!
So the president trophy chicago black hawks eke out a win in OT against an 8 seed, at home no less, and the fans are still on their soap boxes preaching about how dominant their team is. wild will win this one in 6. - MJLjr
While the Flyers fans sit at home and female dog about other teams.

I don't pretend to know what a guy (much less a goalie) that has MS goes through. It's a great story, akin to the Jason Collins' news. But I've seen quite a few of these posts. At risk of sounding like a huge pr!ck, I doubt he'd be out there, whether it be 20 min or 80 minutes, if he couldn't handle it. I'm sure he has good days and bad days and there's no way of knowing what he faces day to day. But I don't know that playing 80 minutes sets him over the edge, but 60 wouldn't. I'm sure he prepares every day the best he can, given his disability.
Credit to the young man for persevering. God knows he has more courage than I would. - eburgio
Collins/Harding is no comparison. One is afflicted with a disease. The other decided to announce his homosexuality (not an affliction) to the world - including his former fiance and girlfriend of 8 years(?). Good for Collins I say but he is not Jackie Robinson. And he isn't Harding either.

Wow. You have a lot of time on your hands this PO it seems.... Realize why yet?
Konopka has had his ass whipped by Bollig on at least 2 occasions and I think Shaw fought him last year as well.
Until Holmgren acquired Rosehill. Who was regularly kicking ass in the city of brotherly welfare suckers and baby killers?

A colleague of mine also stated similar issues. When I told him of the MN goalie (he doesn't follow hockey), he said, "WAIT!...The guy that played against the 'Hawks last night?!?!?! I can't imagine doing that even if I could skate!!"
In fairness to him, no one here would know he has MS if he didn't tell us. To us, he doesn't appear affected based on his day-to-day work. But then again, I don't believe he's ever had an issue within the work confines, or at least one I have heard about. |

Koivu was throwing cheap shots all night long. The Wild were definitely trying to make contact with Crawford to... He really showed something after goal 1. He needs to keep it up and, if he gets hurt and Emory isn't ready.... - tredbrta
And I suppose you simply over looked any "cheap shots" Chicago players were taking? It's playoff hockey. What are you expecting to happen? Players are going to get chippy, take liberties, try to get under guys skin. I would expect both sides to get even more chippy in Fridays game. |

Not. A. Chance.
Just like Leddy making Keith expendable.
Neither is going....and I'd trade Keith before I'd trade Seabrook. - SteveRain
Seems like Keith's contract makes him a permanent member of the Hawks family (2023), but Seabs is a UFA after 2016.
...so never say never.
Seabs isn't the only somewhat mobile, large D-man with talent. Besides, time marches on and rosters turn over.
Eventually moving Seabs wouldn't shock me at all. |

I agree! As long as players are playing near that line, not leaping over it then this will be a hard fought well played series. You guys think if Bolland was out there he wouldn't be using his stick in illegal way? This isn't patty cake, it's hockey! |

I'm still wondering if that was Harding's mother. Maybe just an MS supporter?
I didn't find it that quiet. - tredbrta
The Wild did a good job of taking the crowd out over two periods....Plus a sloppy game with a bunch of offsides will do the same.

The Hawks went offsides more in this game than the last 10 combined. Because 1) the wild's defense threw them off 2) terrible passing. They missed so many easy neutral zone passes it was crazy. Correct that and they'll generate way more opportunities |

Oh I see how it is.. well we'll just see how your team does this we... oh that's right.. in fact I'm not sure which is harder to find these days, what time the Flyers playoff game is or the puck that clinched the 2010 Cup. Maybe you can help me. |

I dont' disagree but think about how badly Keith has plateued since his Norris year....He was bad in 2011, bad in 2012, and was OK this year...but not worth his contract either...Problem is, is that he's signed FOREVER and has a nmc.
The thing to watch is Leddy....lots of teams could throw an offer sheet his way, especially the team out east who tried it with Weber this offseason. Dont' laugh....the last time the hawks had a young, promising D man, he got offered sheeted...see Hammer. - SteveRain
I doubt the Flyers OS Leddy. Not their profile and they are targeting a Weber type. I would not be surprised if they trade for Weber though.
Lot's of other possible fits though for Leddy in the east and west. |
