Don't know if Hemsky+2nd'll get you a first high enough to pick Gauthier, but I actually kind of like this idea. EDM's future 2nd and 3rd line Cs are then big guys that can battle come playoff time.

How is he going to excel on another team. He never plays more than half a season and when he plays he only shows up half the time. So he only really plays 25% of the season.

Duby plus Fist will not get you Hamilton or Doughty's jockstraps...

Bernier is not better than Duby in a starting role.
Bunz is no where near a n NHL back up right now.
Fedun, Musil, Gernat, Bigos, Zharkov are no where near close to NHL ready. MacT was saying Marancin might be close but was the closest of the bunch.
Moroz, Ewanyk, Kessy are not NHLers yet. May never be.
If we do take Lazar. He is not NHL ready.
