I'm actually am excited for it though Avs/Hawks games are always fun and I could see a rivalry with budding with the Blues and Blackhawks. Oilers, I'll miss you...I'll miss us.

Don't know if Hemsky+2nd'll get you a first high enough to pick Gauthier, but I actually kind of like this idea. EDM's future 2nd and 3rd line Cs are then big guys that can battle come playoff time.

You obviously didn't catch MacT's press conference. Basically said they are not trading Hall, Nuge, Ebs, Yak, Schultz, Klefbom.

Said they have the skill guys. Now want to surround them with complimentary pieces. Which is where Clouts is off in thinking Monahan/Barkov. They are not looking to add another "star" player. They want worker bees that can play tough two way minutes and contribute abit offensively. Not more "star" players.

EDM gets outshot like 35-20 every game, so I'd be worried that shot production would dip even more without Ebs though. Plus, he's a goddamn beaut.

I have doubts that anyone is going to take Hemsky for anything. He's useless and expendable. He will be gone regardless. If they get anything for him it will be a huge bonus.

Which is why I think they may trade the 7th down. 7th plus a prospect (Musil?) for 2 of Columbus's firsts? Then they can get 2 of Gauthier/Carrier/Lazar/Morin/De la Rose/Hagg/Mantha...

When Pitlick, Hamilton, Martindale are all flops and there's the guys they draft like Ewanyk, Abney, and Moroz that have 0 value. It's hard to make deals without giving away valuable roster players thanks to their poor later round drafting from 2008-2010.

He didn't say they were untouchable...he said it's "highly, highly unlikely that they will be part of any discusion because they value them so much" So yes it's possible one may be dealt. But it would only be if someone is willing to overpay.

Idk. None of those guys have the likely ceiling of monahan. gauthier'll probably be a 3rd line C that put up 35 points a year and is solid defensively, and lazar'd probably be the exact same but smaller.

I'd say if Monahan isn't there they should trade the pick. Move down a couple slots and get a 3rd line roster player and pick Zadorov at like 9-10-11
