But 2 days of rest will? - canadianpenfan
If the two days of inactivity cause the jaw to completely heal (i.e. where there's no longer any increased opportunity for a re-break), then yes.
Again, winning or losing does not affect a doctor's decision to clear a player. |

A better word choice may be "should" not. |

I disagree.
It's currently the doctor's call, win or lose shouldn't affect the doctor's decision-making. - ursomp71
I'm with you on this one. When the doctor clears him, he is in the lineup. Whether we win or lose shouldn't have any affect on the doctors call. |

You believe they're waiting for the doctor to clear him.
I believe he has been cleared and they just haven't reported it and the team is choosing to be cautious with him.
We can have differing views. |

We'll agree to disagree, but...
Based on Sid's quotes today, he seems to be implying that the doctor's have yet to clear him for game-action. |

Not sure differing views are tolerated on the internet.
I think that the national hockey media should go TMZ style and ambush the Doctor when he leaves his office today and ask him. |

Molinari PG article:
"Crosby, whose jaw was broken by a deflected puck March 30, was examined Tuesday and told that the fracture has not healed enough for him to resume playing.
"He said everything was good," Crosby said. "He just wasn't prepared to declare me (ready) to play. Obviously, I would have loved to have had a chance to play tonight, but that's not the way it is." |

I understand your thought...
But if we are to believe that it's ultimately the doctor's clearance (i.e. complete heal of the broken jaw) which is keeping him from the line-up, then a win/loss in Game 1 won't change that. - ursomp71
If it is completely healed. He wouldn't be wearing a protective mask. So we will see when he comes back if they waited for it to completely heal or not. |

Even once it's completely healed, he will still wear the mask (at least for the rest of this season). |

I think Morrow is going to come out barreling over everyone he can on his first couple shifts. |

With how superstitious he is, if he wears it and they win the Cup, he might wear in next season as well. lol |

They are keeping him out because they have recognized that he is cursed against the Islanders. Two times this year he has taken a puck in the mouth against the Islanders and they just don't want to risk it. |

Geno - Gunner Staal
He need to step up... This team has plenty to be the Isles but if Geno plays the way he did last year their could be some lopsided scores. |

He's going to be a monster. Him and Iggy know that this may be their best chance at winning.
On a side note, the Blues looked like a freight train last night. Quick kept that game from being 4-1. If they keep this up, they are my favorites in the west |
