Looks like we have a Hawks team that harkens back to last yr -- totally unprepared to play. Guess they think they can just turn it on and win.

WRONG.

Right now, this looks like a team playing NOT to lose. And IMO, some of the best Hawks players are the young guys that have been beaten up on this board: Stalberg, Leddy, Frolik.

Duncan Keith looks like shi!t, made some really bad decisions already and has been lucky the Wild haven't scored while he's out there.

And of course, the great Corey Crawford. Well, I wouldn't worry at the moment about getting to 16 wins -- I'd worry about getting to 4 wins 'cause I smell another 1st round exit.

Little early to go into chicken little mode but yes that wasn't a very good period.

Have to agree with Ogi though, they did look physical.

Were is the intensity guys????
Team seems a little flat.
Another soft goal by Mr. Soft goal himself did not help.
Sorry but I have no confidence in this guy.
Hope its just a blip on the radar.

....c'mon boys!!!!!

Ok - 20 minutes - the ledge isn't big enuf for all of us.

Plenty of time to turn it around, in this game and the series. Didn't they lose the first game in the first two rounds in 2010?

They just need to start when the next puck drops.

Thus far, not what I expected to see. A SOG once in a while might be nice.
- Tugboat

...and I don't mean to be a d'bag, but Harding has played about 30 minutes in the last 20 games...and he has MS.

Please get a couple shots on goal Hawks.

If we're chasing games...we're usually in trouble. It could be 3-0...Crow made a good save after Keith olay'd a puck at the point and then he made two great saves at the end of the period...but he whiffed on Buttercup's shot and WE'RE CHASING.

Typical hawk big game. 1st goal was huge. Give the wild some hope. Playing a goalie who hardly played and a perfect situation to pepper him. They didn't even come close to threatening. Luckily 2 periods left but they are playing very poorly all look nervous. Can't pass. Bickell looks really bad

Why do the Hawks look like they are skating in quicksand when they play at home? Obviously not all the time but I don,t notice them having the same problem on the road as much

Little to early to claim the sky is falling but yes terrible start.....that's why I hate when team rest players at the end of the season....but that's a story for another day. Bad goal for CC but defense has been brutal as has offensive zone play.....time to get it together for the second.

Playing down to their competition. Did it really surprise anyone?

While playing somewhat more physical, they still are not strong enough to consistently win board battles or keep the puck in the offensive zone. Looking specifically at you Duncan Keith

If they get a little traffic in front of Harding they should get some dirty goals.

Oh, power play anyone?

Wild had seven blocked shots in first period of Game 1 vs. #Blackhawks. Shots are even at 6-6.

Partial redemption there for Crawford.

Hawks need to go to work in the 2nd.

- John Jaeckel

That was a crappy period by the Hawks. They need to start skating, forechecking and getting the puck to the net.

Crawford will play better the rest of the way and the boys will start scoring in the 2nd. I'm not worried, it's just one period.
