The last 2 number 1 centers to win the cup were Anze Kopitar and David Krejci. We also could have used that Niemi guy last year, instead of the Canadian boy we had giving in goals that looked more like thye belonged in the state championship at the UC than a playoff game. Look at who the Red Wings miss most, Lidstrom. Cool it with the xenophobia and appreciate good hockey players. What would have happened if you were the caps or Penguins in the Ovechkin/Malkin draft?

The hockey world has evolved significantly and the NHL would be a much, much lesser league without the international players playing in it. And everybody associated with the game knows that too.

Don Cherry's point is usually about the makeup of recent Stanley Cup winning teams like the Hawks, Bruins and Kings. Heavily comprised of Canadian born players. He just likes to wave the flag.

Ovi's team in the KHL won the Gugerin Cup. They are giving him a ring even though he went back to Washington after the lockout.

So he has a Cup ring FWIW.

I think Vigneault has hit an all new low. He's being out coached before the puck has been dropped. What coach uses a 2nd and 3rd line that has never been used before in game 1 of the playoffs? I'll tell you who. Alain (frank)ing Vigneault. The only coach that will totally change his lines and chemistry in reaction to the the oppositions lineup, instead of icing the best lineup for his team.

Attacked you? C'mon. Go back and read the thread. All I asked you was "Is that what you think of European players in general?"

Other than making a couple quips about players of European descent, which wasn't necessarily directed at you, I really haven't said boo sh1t about the subject except for agreeing with the points I agree with.

I guess if you figure my comments about Jagr and Lidstrom are an attack, so be it. If your feelings get hurt that easily, I guess i don't know what to tell you.
