It's funny how desperate he is to win ONE argument. - keaner17
Oh, I know. |

Nah...I'm done with him. The core conversation was that top five picks typically don't need seasoning in the AHL. That most complete their junior careers and move on to the NHL. Once he figured out he was wrong, he started distorting the conversation to try and save face. He's one of these guys that have to have the last word so he can get through the rest of his day.
At some point, the guy has to look around and realize that everyone considers him a novelty act and either move on or tone it down. There's never anything wrong when you think everyone else is..... - keaner17
You are done because I proved you wrong over and over again. Instead of admitting you were wrong you prefer to insult and ignore. That's fine and that's usually how it's done unfortunately.
My point was and still is that bad teams are forced to play their first rounders before they are ready in a lot of situations. Good teams aren't. I've proven that over and over again even when you put your limitations on the discussion. |

I'm not desperate to win anything. Winning an argument in the Islanders blogs isn't hard at all. It just gets annoying when common sense prevails over and over again and people choose to insult others after common sense wins out. |

Thanks. While you're at it, ask him how the Ricky D contract is working out. |

Yeah, no fanbases overvalue their prospects. Does'nt happen anywhere especially not on hockeybuzz. It's something unique to Islander fans only. With that said there are a couple guys on here that do overvalue(IMO)our prospects to an extent. In no way does this blanket the entire fanbase OR I'll do you one better every Isles fan on hockeybuzz. Far from it in fact. The funniest thing about you and your argument(s) is that the vast majority on here are far from homers quite the contrary actually. You constantly saying that we are makes you look obtuse to such a degree that you come off as ignorant. - Cptmjl
Every fan base overvalues their prospects. We are the only ones who are always wrong. And yes, you'll come back with "Well what about JT" and you'd be right. He is the only one. THE ONLY ONE.
Every other team in the league can come out every once in a while and say that the expectations were either close or right on. We can't.
And to bring it back to my original point, 6 top 10 picks since 2006 and barely making the playoffs is NOT acceptable. And to think that it took a historic run to get there is even worse. |

No..you insult yourself plenty
I don't disagree that good teams don't play their first rounders right away because good teams typically draft players later in the first round. But once again, you've fallen off the topic which was Strome and Nino. They are top five picks and as I said, most top five picks do not need to play in the AHL as they are NHL ready by the time they leave their junior club. THAT was what started this and THAT is the subject you ran from. End of story. |

It doesn't matter how you get in.... once you're in... you're in!!!
Everything starts fresh!!!
Nobody expects the Isles to win.... but everybody wants them to win!!!
The Pens are the most hated team in the NHL right now.
I really don't care what negative spin people want to put on this team... this year was a successsful season for the Isles!!!
Something to build on.
Playoff hockey is great, and I'm just happy the Isles are part of it!!! - jimmc7722
You are right but that's a different discussion all together. Using the Kings of last year as an example to show how a team in 8th place can win is not really a valid point because the Islanders didn't make the moves the Kings made. It's not as bad as the '93 Isles/Pens thing though.

And I've proven your point WRONG over and over again. You just cannot seem to accept that.
I've already given you example after example. I've given you players and entire organizations. I've even cited the Islanders during the cup years as one.
Regardless of the proof that goes against your argument you still won't see it. |

What, do you not appreciate all of the informative news flashes that the Penguins have a very good team that will be very hard to beat, or is it the continued Isles-fan on Isles-fan violence that has you down?

It's an absolutely valid point. The Kings barely snuck in against a high-powered President's Trophy-winning team. That was followed by the team that was able to shut down anyone and play fantastic transitional hockey. Then, they played Phoenix (meh), followed by a team of unheralded world-beaters in NJ.
The Kings, on paper, were better than the Isles are this year. But the Kings got timely playoff scoring, great leadership, and unbelievably good goaltending. It's possible (unlikely, but possible) that the Islanders get the same. They don't have the same level of talent as LA, but they're in, which gives them a chance. |

Just (frank)ing with you Agree with everything you said. The main question is can we do it? I say we just play as dirty as we can and get under their skin. Just say (frank) it |

I'm not sure who you are arguing with or what the subject is to be honest.
You just spew out these rants, like everybody is out to get you?!?!
What exactly is your point?
It almost seems you are upset the Isles are in, because it goes against all your theories about how bad the Isles are.
Everybody know they have alot of issues... starting on top with Wang!!!
But even you have to admit it has been a pretty successful year.
The Brooklyn move alone is a win...win!!!
Enjoy it!!! |

Of top five picks? Nope....you offered a few while still the majority favor what I said. You've proven nothing wrong. You're like a kid who scribbles on paper over two seconds and then says."DONE...SEE! ART!"

The Kings last year... and the 93 team have nothing to do with the 2013 Isles!!!
They need to make their own story!!!
