Find the post and quote it. He is the only option they have right now. Yes, right now.

If something else comes up thats better, take it. But going into next season with a "We'll figure it out" approach is not smart.

That's exactly what I've been saying all along. And you can go back and look.

And for all the people researching every post I ever made in order to try and "catch me", make sure you put the blog you found the post in. You can twist my words all you want but don't edit what I said.

- kencan98

and that's why "right now" (which may be 4 more games) he's on the top line and under contract. Right now expires right after the playoffs and then Snow can get to work replacing him, which should NOT be difficult.

they won 24 games...in an 82 game season they were on pace to win 41 games...considering, and im sure even you can agree with this, the team looks like they are only getting stronger, id say getting close to 47 wins in a season isnt that far fetched give or take 2-4 wins.
- LetsGoIsles

So the "pace" of them lose a game a month is what you are going by?

Why not average the whole season so you can get a more accurate number out of it.

They aren't going to go on 20 game runs (or whatever it was) every month or two.

And you are all wrong. I never said it and that's why even though people are looking, they aren't finding anything.

And from what I get from this crowd, most people here aren't big enough to come in and say "He never said it". They'll just call me names instead.

The Cpt guy is looking. He's been posting all day and all of a sudden stopped. Hopefully he's not looking in the same place you looked for your "penguins cupboard" thing.

And BTW, if you DOUBLE the Islanders record they are at 48 wins. That's with the run. If you put them at .500 for the rest of the year, they'll end just above .500 for the season. Not even close.

Replacing PAP was pretty difficult. Boyes didn't look too promising last summer.

With the UFA crop this year, we won't even get a Boyes. We are downgrading every year.

i did, its simple math...although i already discovered your issues with that 2002-2009 = ?

82/48 = 1.708333*24 =40.9999 (forgive me, i rounded up to 41 wins), than i factored in they have been playing well and seem to have gelled together and figured each other out, again, we should be able to agree with that, and i added 4-5 wins

if i were projecting them to go on 20 game winnings runs they would have won closer to 60 wins than the 44-48 games i projected.

youre so foolish!!!! 34 games werent played...assuming they played due to the lockout .500 that means 17 more wins. that puts them at 41 wins!!

again, i factored in a few more wins because they have clearly come together and gelled as a group, i add 3-4 more wins...thats 44-45 wins...again, is it EXACT as the 2007 penguins, nope...in the same league...YES!!!

I for one hope to hell we don't resign boyes, he is atrocious in the defensive zone. But w/ that said can we rely on nino, strome or nelson knowing 2 of them are centers to be that spark we need on the top line. Unless we sign a better FA and the class is weak or make a trade you almost have to resign him. He will get 2.5mil next season maybe 3.

I would offer anaheim nino 2014 2nd rd pick and a prospect for bobby Ryan see what happens. Do I really think that will happen of course not. Also a pipe dream I would love to get Phil Kessel after next season when he is a UFA

Instead of looking at our record before the run, factoring .500 during the run, then maybe factoring an average of the two for the remainder of the season, you did basic math which doesn't really work in this situation.

You have to take into account that the team has played better. And you also have to take into account that Nabby can't play every game. You also have to take into account that the last 3 games have been some of the worst hockey they've played all season. How do we know we aren't following an 10 game winning streak (or whatever it was) with a 10 game losing streak?

If you want a number that's close you have to factor in the averages before and during the run and use that winning percentage to calculate the rest of the season while accounting for the fact that our backup can't win games and that Nabby is 37 and can't play 70 games a season.

very much agree...i want him or lucic (TRADE)
- LetsGoIsles

I would love Lucic but it would cost us big time. Clarkson would just cost them cash, which I know wang doesn't like to spend but at some point he has to open up the wallet so why not now?

Yea I dont want Boyes back next year... I saw what they were hoping for and there have been flashes but he has been overall bad for us. I think the Isles are gonna promote from within to fill that hole but you never know. Def would take more to get Bobby Ryan out of Anaheim but I like his game and think he is worth it.

Nino is a prospect and one that hasn't really showed anything positive at all both on and off the ice.

I'd do Bailey, a first, and Nino for Ryan. Then I'd still resign Boyes at the 2.5 you said and I'd try to get him at that number for 3 years. I'd put him on the second with KO and Frans. Then by the deadline I'd have a prospect in that spot and dump Boyes for a pick, and use his contract terms and hopefully his numbers as the selling point.

hahahahahaha gotta love how you ONLY factor in bad things...maybe the 10 game winning streak would have been followed by a 3 game losing streak and then followed by another 10 game winning streak...youre amazing!!!

i DID factor in every game from THIS SEASON!!! i DID factor in the entire season winning percentage...it comes out to 41 wins.

the only thing i did on my own was add 3-4 wins based off of the recent success of the team and clearly them playing better the 2nd half of the season than the 1st.

WAY to much for Ryan... 1st, Nino and a mid-prospect should be more then enough... But all depends on what Anaheim is looking for. Maybe they want a top D prospect instead of Nino. Would the Isles bite then?
