Um, no. We got 2 second round picks on our way down to 9. Should we consider those two second rounders top five picks too? It will only help your argument. - Cptmjl
No because that was my original point.
FOR ONCE, JUST USE THE 5 PICK TO MAKE THE PICK AND DEVELOP THE PROSPECT.
They don't do that. With Nino, they rushed him and he failed. With the Bailey draft, they went cupboard filling. And if you go back further it gets even worse. |

Yep...exactly, because the prior picks have to do with the quality of the pick whereas it's too early to judge that on Snow's picks...which is the point. It's like damning one President for the mistakes that occured three administrations prior. If you're going to start listing DiPietro as a reason to believe the Isles will screw Strome up, you're argument is already lost. - keaner17
No it's not. It's like damning a President who is making the same mistakes as the President before him. Saying that he isn't making the same mistakes or that the mistakes are not valid because it was something the last President did as well is not an honest argument. |

You said a Decade +. I had a feeling you at least a little honest compared to the Islander fans around here. I think DiPietro could be included in the discussion since he's still around so 2000 is a valid draft to look at.
In 2008, what number pick did the Islanders have? Who did they pick? - kencan98
They HAD the fifth and TRADED DOWN to ninth so you saying Bailey was a top five pick is incorrect in a literal sense, which of course you know already but that does'nt seem to matter with you because you are nuts. |

Bailey - NO
Nino - NO
They don't do it. |

Your original point has zero validity when part of that original point is wrong. |

He's a bust here. And it's not only because of his NHL play. It's because of his NHL play, not being invited to camp, trade request, not being asked to join the team during the post season. To me (or anyone with eyes) that doesn't look very good. - kencan98
you would have traded stamkos as a 19 year old.. by the way don't talk to me like i'm an idiot... |

So they did make the pick and develop the prospect?
When?
By the way, where did Cupboard Boy go? Is he still looking for the WB pens in 2002 and the cupboard filling? |

Right. Because the answer is THEY NEVER DID.
And you aren't big enough to admit it. |

If he had 5 points in 64 games, was a -30, requested and trade, wasn't invited to camp and wasn't invited to join the team during playoffs, Yes, I would have. And I believe Nino is 21 or close to it. |

I have nothing left in the tank for you. If you think that's why I'm done replying to you you're wrong, I'm guessing this happens daily in your life? Incredible how every single person on hockeybuzz(not just Islander fans)think you're nuts. Yet you still don't get it? Just proves that very point even more, does'nt it? |

Wrong because the picks are not comparable...see again...you're dealing with absolutes without having the common sense to recognize the diversity of the topic. Again, take a look around the top five picks in the past five drafts and see how many of them went directly from Juniors to the NHL. That's the norm. Strome is ready for that now. That's the difference, he HAS been developed.
*Edit..make that the past 10 drafts since five is a bit too recent. |

I'm just answering the questions made by others. Since everything I say is based on pure facts and on the history of the team, no one can really deny anything I'm saying. Most of them either run off (cupboard boy) or insult and use faces (the cpt guy).
I'm not bullying anyone. I'm just answering.
Someone who requests a trade, isn't invited to camp and isn't invited to join the team during playoffs is a problem. Add in the NHL production and (if you have eyes) you can see clearly he's an issue. |

Actually "decade+" was your term, I just repeated it. If you want to count him, whatever. It's soon-to-be 13 drafts ago but, whatever floats your boat. That said, in 2008, the Islanders had the #9 overall pick and used it on Josh Bailey.
