NHL system is a joke. The worst team should always get the first pick. How else will teams like Florida get out of the cellar. It's not fair at all. Congrats on the other hand. jones will look good there.

Do you guys think its a sure thing it's Jones?

Florida will get fuccked again once they vote for rookie of the year. Huberdeau only lead all rookies in points playing on an AHL team. He'll still get overlooked...

Sorry dude, it's not that Huberdeau is going to get "over-looked", it's just that he's not the best rookie this year......And the winner is :

It wouldn't even be close to what Pitt has. Huberdeau isn't going to be a leader or captian that Crosby is. He probably won't even be the player Malkin is.

Drouin is the best forward in the draft hands down. He's the closest prospect to Pavel Bure I've ever seen. His speed is insane and scoring ability is amazing. We NEED Drouin. MacKinnon is overrated, it will be Florida's pick 100% because all the Panthers do is draft busts up and down the draft.

Jone's father played for the Nuggets, of course this is a PR fix. Florida gets fuccked...

How does Florida get (frank)ed? Did you want to draft Jones or something? Did you want to have the certainty that Florida was going to get the player they wanted instead of fear whoever drafted first took him?

I dont understand how you can be upset that youre picking 2nd, when either of the top 3 picks are #1 overall talents in this draft.

Can't say that since they never played an NHL game. No pick is a 100% lock. Jones on the other hand is the closest thing to a lock.
- BallardHitsHard22

We needed Seth bad, and we would have probably traded up to get him.
But I think you guys are in an interesting spot as well. Drouin and MacKinnon are cant miss as well. You could have a chance to trade down with Tampa if they are favouring one more than the other. I think being at number 2 it can give you options

Why Do I have this nagging suspision still that we will trade you guys EJ for crap since we have this pick.
- DDM-Coga

I would love that, but unfortunately I don't have that same suspicion. I fear Holmgren giving up the house for a guy like Yandle. Now don't get me wrong, I like Yandle, but at Phoenix's rumored asking price last year (Couturier, B Schenn, and a 1st) I would become an Avs fan if we did that deal. Hell, a major Flyers writer (who really is a joke but works for the Philly Inquirer) suggested the Flyers offer Couturier, Coburn, and a pick for Yandle. But I'd be extremely interested in Erik, but still don't see the Avs moving him despite Seth coming in. Having too many good young d-man, certainly isn't a problem.

Where's the Seth Jones party at?

I'm waiting to be invited to the one being hosted by O'Reilly and O'Brien.

Clearly you have not watched the Oilers this year....He played most of the year on the 3rd line with Horcoff and MPS...Hardly better than what Huberdeau had.

I love how a fanbase is so upset over having to choose between MacKinnon and Drouin. Feel free to trade picks with the Flyers, we need a d-man as badly as anyone in the league, but we'd be happy to draft another forward at #2

To be honest, there's so much talent in this draft, even teams in the 5-8 range should be thrilled. Having the #2 or #3 pick would be a great thing this year. Don't know why that guy is female doging about it.

regardless now Florida can draft out of need not best player, Drouin and huberdeau will be one of the scariest tangents in a few years to go along with the depth they have at centre, in net and even on the back end florida should be a contender in 3-4 years

Exactly, it's a great draft to have an early pick in. And that's whether your team is picking 1st or 14th, plenty of great prospects available this year.
