If you have a better way to turn useless cap space into picks/prospects let me know!!! - The-O-G
There's this cool thing, it's been in the league for a while now and its called Free Agency. You should look into it. Besides, Feaster will go after players and they could be guys with questionable contracts but it isn't going to be a 35 year old injury prone winger with years left on a terrible contract.

Though I agree about Ovie, I just think the Rangers have better playoff players and one heck of a goalie. Edge to Rangers. - Colin Dambrauskas
But is anyone listening to Torts anymore?? |

FA will not bring picks and prospects with them.
I would expect a combination of FA signings and taking on bad contracts with players that are still useful. |

I hope the Caps kill the Rangers. The Rangers had the easiest sched to end the season and barely made it in. |

I think he has a no trade plus way too many years on that deal. |

Nope. Just not big on Fleury. I'm actually cheering for the Pens (Iggy) but Fleury makes me very nervous. |

He takes a lot of the blame for what happened last season. But it wasn't just him, 't he didn't help but he wasn't getting much help. |

Why would you even say that? What if Feaster visits HB? |

Nice to see unbiased predictions from a non-playoff team writer. Esplen thinks VAN is the best team in the world. Barry thinks LA is the best team in the world.

Do the Oilers and their fans know what real defense or goaltending look like? - Ben37
Just because we don't have it doesn't mean we don't know what it looks like...
I'd take Duby over Fluery anyday.
And yes...the Oilers only have 2 maybe 3 good defense. We know it, and we'll deal with it....
Pens fans on the other hand just stick their head in the sand and hope the offense scores enough... |

I remember a time when Pen's fans weren't total D-bags.... Oh how times have changed....
hard to have a decent conversation with a Pens fan nowadays
Derppp were the best and no one can derppppp beat us cause we have the derpppppp best players EVAR, and we derrrppppp are SUPER AWESOME derrpppp no arguement is valid against the deeerrrppp PENS.
JagerBombs, Popped Collars & Fresh fades for every one of them I would imagine |

It won't be a guy like Briere, as he has too many years left. that's why I think Timmonen, he is still useful and only has 1 year left at $6mil. If healthy, he could even ring back a 1st or at least 2nd at the DL next season. - TandA4Flames
Timmonen just signed an extension in February I doubt they move him. |

I think many of you are going to be disappointed if you think the whole taking on a salary and getting a good player/propsect/pick along with it is going to happen. When is the last time a team actually did this? Especially a team that has money? You want a bad contract look at FLA or NSH.
You can also cancel guys with NMC of your list from a team like PHI. Why would a Briere or Timonnen waive them? They can get bought out at 2/3 and then sign with whoever they want and end up further ahead. I'd also suggest taking a closer look at PHI's cap as if you delete Pronger and all the UFA's from the capgeek roster they are 2mil over next year's cap and that's with 24 guys signed. |
