If i considered you the voice of the ppl I'd be offended . Seeing as how I could care less what you think I suggest you save your words as they're obviously wasted on me.
odd how you hear the same msg over and over and yet it doesnt sink in....
Its also 330 am... don't act like you have somewhere better to be. - 93Matty
I never suggested I did. I just suggested you go back to a thread where people give a damn. |

You should take your own advice. - robin_steele264
I dont understand why you're talking to me ? shouldn't you be talking about the Leafs somewhere ? you're one liners are about as interesting as the Oilers 3rd periods. |

Yup, draft 4 more 1st round picks that don't get developed properly and Edmonton keeps sitting in the shiatter.
You don't need picks, you NEED some experience and some size. Neither of which you've been drafting. Let's hope MacT doesn't have the same kind of Jerry Sandusky man crush Tambs had. Because he apparently liked his 'boys' undersized... - MisterC

If it wasnt for the first few min of the game and OT there wouldnt be much to watch at all... may as well nap after the first 5 min. |

Doing legs releases the most growth hormone which can help add size and muscle elsewhere. He can still develop more lower body strength and size (once he can move the arm lol) - ystoil
Thanks for the info, i never knew that. I'll make sure to do more legs myself then. Thanks dude. |

I believe Ottawa offered Zibanejad as part of the deal for Rick Nash. Nash did not agree to a Columbus/Ottawa trade. You can be pretty certain Ottawa is happy today that the deal involving Zibanejad fell through.
Very quietly Ottawa has put together an outstanding collection of young players and prospects. They have 6 rookies playing who are in the top 20 in in rookie scoring this year. Ottawa does player development very differently than the Oilers. Very seldom do rookies ever stick in their draft year.
Does not mean Oilers are wrong in their approach. I am a fan of the roster the Oilers have put together. But something is missing. The Oilers do not have an Alfredsson or a Gonchar, even Chris Phillips gets great respect from the young players and coaching staff.
There are some teams that are in a world of hurt in terms of getting under the cap next year. If the Oilers do any deals it should not be for another young player. Far better to seek out a stronger veteran presence.
Go for Iginla. If the Rangers buy out Richards he might be a nice fit or Daniel Briere from the Flyers. I don't think the Oilers need to do much. They are close. |

I think MacT is smart enough to see this. And not stupid enough to think the only way to get better is by trading their very best young players.
Lots of dead weight can be cut loose from this team.
Watching Yakupov last night just makes me wanna slap those who want to trade him.

"The next Klefbom."
Doesn't he have to actually do something in the NHL before that call gets made.
Although I suppose by your logic, every defenseman currently not playing in the NHL is the 'next Klefbom'.
Wait until he does something, and then crown him. You're not too far removed from the days where you were talking about Linus Omark like he was going to be the next great 2nd line winger in the NHL. With development staff like the one the Oilers have, none of your prospects are locks. |

You think the leafs will win a series???!!! i've got news for ya buddy, they're gonna fall faltter then dustin penner while he's eating pancakes. - deadsector
Kinda like you guys do every year, even tho you have something like 5 top 1st rounders in ur line? Now that were in the playoffs i couldnt think of a more perfect team to hold the longest playoff drought then the oiler's..Enjoy the streak
P.S we've beat Montreal in all but 1 game this season so far,so if we do pull montreal n the 1st round chances are good we take it in 6 games,5 if were lucky. |

If anyone knows about failure it's a Leafs fan. You make the playoffs for the first time in 7 years and you come on here yapping about how bad our team is.
A quick first round exit will look good on you. You wish you had the core players we have. - Oildrum
Hahaha at least we can say were in now tho,can you say the same after missing them for 7 yrs in a row?
A quick 1st round exit you say?Sounds like the predictions everyone had when the season started that the leafs would finish in the bottom of the east this yr,Riemer would fold and be at the bottom of the goalie stats this yr..Kessel was gona have a bad season and lupul was gona be a 1 yr wonder,The scheen Van rd trrade was gona work out to phillys benefit, etc etc...How are those predictions holding up today?

Not sure if this has been mentioned but if smyth retires, his cap hit counts against the cap next yr. Unless the waste a buyout and that seems doubtful |

Trading guys for picks is useless at this point.
Hemsky for whatever. Don't care about any return for him.
Smid stays.

Gagner for a 1st round pick in the 8-12 range? Later 1st round picks for Hemsky and Smid? You are out of your mind for sure.Plus Smid isn't going anywhere. If nothing Ritchie you are entertaining. |

Do me a favor: put up a list of every 8-12 pick for the last 5 or even 10 years. Then tell me how many of them have put up the points Gagner has, played the games he has and been anywhere near as good as he has in general. I guarantee you it's a very short list, if it exists at all. Peoples overrating of draft picks really really needs to stop. Hemsky I'll grant may not get one but Smid?? Lol, cmon man. |
