We are going to have to agree to disagree on Streit. However if he add Horton, we might be able to get a better two way dman like Ott. Not saying Ott is the only option but his hit totals each year would make him fun to see in an Oiler Jersey. Put him with Paajarvi and Hartkinen (if he improves over the summer) and we have a third line that can put up points, change momentum and hit. Trained right, they could be great as a shutdown line.

Hartkinen is amazing at keeping the puck low in their end. Paajarvi has speed and is more dangerous each month, then Ott is good at face offs and can lay out the top players. That makes us dangerous with 3 lines.

I don't think Streit is a bad player, but he is mos def on the back 9 at this point. He will only get slower, weaker etc..

Hemsky is almost always at RW isn't he?

Even if he stays, I don't see him as anything other than a human hole in our roster. He's a body, but he doesn't fill any needs. Replace him. Get rid of him, and be sure that any 20 point NHLer who can be consistently physical is a better option anywhere in the roster than Hemsky.

Yes, in fact when tested as LW hemmer always sucked. When he was with Yak and Gags Yak played LW, and Yak has been a million times better with MPS or Hall on LW and him on the right.
Hemsky leaving leaves no hole whatsoever, except maybe on 3R...but he didnt really fit there anyway. He could be picked up on waivers and we wouldnt even notice him gone.

I'm done trying to defend Hemsky because clearly everyone has their head in the sand in this thread.

Yes he is a liability. Get rid of him for what ever pick someone will give you or compliance buyout.

He shows flashes of brilliance, but is often injured and disappears when it matters way too often. Good player, but not a difference maker by any stretch of the imagination.

I think he's in a role where we have two younger, and at this juncture equally good if not better players (high skill offense-oriented wingers). We can move him, from my perspective, with little consequence to our offense.

We NEED a couple of things on this roster, all of which Hemsky cannot provide. Why not move him?
