Don't strain the brain ... I can tell that one was hard to come up with.
Oilers will crap the bed next year too, followed by a few years around the bubble, followed by a "retool" followed by a rebuild when you either cant afford to keep all the high picks, or they've decided they'd like to win something.
Oilers = one of the worst run teams in north american sports. - 93Matty
LOL a Toronto fan being cocky after his team makes the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade. By the way in that time frame you guys could've had seguin and Hamilton(2nd and 9th overall). You also picked 5th overall last year. You picked 7th in 2009. 5th in 2008. Those are pretty high picks too! |

Leafs finally get back to the playoffs and you start spouting this BS. - abware
Yup, I've lived through it, get use to it. I called your team crashing earlier in the year, stating that the Leafs were far superior. Most couldn't see the Leafs forwards depth for what it was. Good luck with your injured riddled 1st overall's

We wouldn't be where we are without Kessel, and most Leafs fans are ok with Boston benefiting from the trade as well.
Lets face it, your team doesn't run the same, your mgt doesnt have the balls to make a move like that.
Don't compare 5th-10th overalls to the bs that you guys have been handed. |

Clouts, 4 first rounders does not help us. Keep the top pick. Let the pick develop properly.
Trading hemsky, gagner, the two second rounders and maybe Schultz can help fill a couple holes. Honestly, if we can move hemsky for a pick, I'd throw that 5 mill cap hit at clarkson. |

Get use to failure, your soft a$s forwards are going to be old men in their mid 20's.
Oilers = rush kids into the NHL for no fracking reason... - 93Matty
If anyone knows about failure it's a Leafs fan. You make the playoffs for the first time in 7 years and you come on here yapping about how bad our team is.
A quick first round exit will look good on you. You wish you had the core players we have. |

Hmmm funny, myself and most posters here were saying the Oilers would finish outside of the playoffs. I will call right now the leafs crashing next year and finishing 11-13 in the east. |

Thanks for pointing out what everyone in edmonton knows. We know Lowe is an idiot. I'm not about to judge Mac t yet. Also, what did all that have to do with gagners value, which was what my original response was regarding. FYI. I guess when you can't argue on topic you resort to that? I guess I could bring up the leaf cup drought? Or maybe how many cups the leafs have when the league had more than six teams? |

Gagne's value is well known to Oilers fans as well. He's a fringe 2nd line C. He's soft and small, and on a cup winning team he'd be absent a spot. You know you're looking for a larger C to replace him, so the concept of him bringing in an asset that's worth anything is a joke. It's like the Leafs and Bozak, neither are worth taking about. They're stop gaps.
Talk all you want about Toronto, I live in Edmonton. Trust me, Toronto is a much better hockey market and city for that matter. |

Methinks your mouth is bigger then your brain. Try fandangoing that might help you clear the cobwebs. OIlers kids can crush teams, all they need to do is put it together and if you call 23 old your blowing hot air out your ass. |

Cloutier, do you know what would make me happier than the Oilers picking 4 times in the first round?
Picking zero times in the first round and trading the pick for immediate help on the defense. |

He only looks like a fringe second line centre because he isn't with the right mix of players. The guys on pace for 60 points (approximately). That's fringe? It's easy to see a guys weakness on a bad team. You're right, we need more size in the middle but that doesn't mean other teams can't utilize his skill. Teams with bigger wingers.
The fact that you believe Sam gagner and. 7th overall pick isn't worth zibenajad is mind boggling. I'm not saying Ottawa does it but you can be damn sure gags has value.
Why are you bringing up hockey markets? And cities?

23 going on 40... you've rushed your players to the point where they're physically breaking down.
me thinks you're sour about an ongoing issue that clearly has no end.

What are you talking about.
Hall seems to be doing ok. He had a lingering shoulder injury from junior that was aggravated and needed surgery.
Nuge is small, but after his rookie campaign can you honestly say he didn't deserve or belong in the nhl?
No problems with yak or Eberle.
Not to mention they have all played a lot more games than usual. |

60 points on a run and gun system isn't that impressive. He's no better then the Stajan's and Bozak's of the world. OK , that's not fair, he's slightly above both... but he's hardly an asset that will bring something of value in. A team so desperate for a 2nd C will send something back, but don't get your hopes up. No cup team runs a 2C of this nature. I'm sure this is where you compare him to someone whom you think is of equal value who was a 2C of a cup winning team...

HOW can you possibly defend your 18 year olds being rushed into the NHL ? They were brought in to sell jerseys and give some sort of odd hope to the fans. Keep rushing the kids, and I'm sure magic will happen. Hall came in too early, and needed to add weight to his frame for the style he plays. Also Nuge should have had surgery after being drafted to repair his shoulder if it was that bad. These effects can seriously stint growth ... But hey, I'm no DR ... |

Yup, draft 4 more 1st round picks that don't get developed properly and Edmonton keeps sitting in the shiatter.
You don't need picks, you NEED some experience and some size. Neither of which you've been drafting. Let's hope MacT doesn't have the same kind of Jerry Sandusky man crush Tambs had. Because he apparently liked his 'boys' undersized... |

An Avs fan talking poop about the Oilers? Really?
You're the worst run organization in the NHL. Get the (frank) outta here you lame ass troll
Traded a top pairing dman and a promising PWF for the biggest bust of a 1st overall pick in the past decade and Duncan Siemens
Named a 19 year old your captain, just totally said (frank) you to Duchene
i could go on and on
Get the (frank) outta here |

Quoted for truth...
they will never ice a healthy team at the rate they're at. If they were so lucky to draft Jones this year they'd be foolish enough to play him the following. And so the cycle continues until they get traded and cry, or they leave on their own accord and the fans cry.

Hall sure looks no worse for the wear.
I have no idea when exactly nuge got hurt, but I will agree he should have atleast been rested at some point if there was an issue, but as I dont know the circumstances nor do you I cannot say for sure.
You honestly think another year in junior would have helped hall or nuge? They owned the league and would have cruised through. The oilers are not the first team to start first overalls in the nhl and they won't be the last. Gagner was rushed, and it probably stunted his development but that is amother story. |
