LOL a Toronto fan being cocky after his team makes the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade. By the way in that time frame you guys could've had seguin and Hamilton(2nd and 9th overall). You also picked 5th overall last year. You picked 7th in 2009. 5th in 2008. Those are pretty high picks too! - ystoil
By the way, Kessel is an ELITE player. Don't forget that |

Do me a favor: put up a list of every 8-12 pick for the last 5 or even 10 years. Then tell me how many of them have put up the points Gagner has, played the games he has and been anywhere near as good as he has in general. I guarantee you it's a very short list, if it exists at all. Peoples overrating of draft picks really really needs to stop. Hemsky I'll grant may not get one but Smid?? Lol, cmon man. - sanfordnson
If you agree with Clouts on the value of these players. The obvious would be why trade them? |

Because the needs have changed and situations arent always so clear. Trade Gagner, and create a hole at C. Trade Smid, make the D even worse. Either would need to be packaged with more to bring in anything we really need, such as a top pairing dman or a top 6 forward with size and toughness. my only point was the people I keep hearing saying "LOLZ Smid and Gagner b worth a 2ndzz maybee hawhaw", need to just stop. |

Unbelievable that Gabriel Landeskog from that east coast team called the Colorado Avalanche won the Calder last year. That was crazy. |

I will agree with that.Ritchie wanting to stock pile draft picks is ludicrious at this point. Use your assets and bring in veterans to get this this team to the next level. |

Yah, google his name, theres a photo with him sitting around a pool with a HUGE belly on him during the offseason. He was skilled, but slow as poop. A huge let down to Leafs fans. - 93Matty
I'm pretty sure the unabomber and the uniballer will choke in the playoffs. |

Reality check for the 1,000,000 th ime - Hemsky isn't worth a first round pick. No one will give that up for an enigma making 5 million in a season where the cap is going down.
Why would you trade the seventh overall pick and Gagner for Bryden Schenn. Schenn isn't that good.
Fact is, you have no idea what value to place on anyone in the NHL - yours or someone else's player. |

Nail for Calder. Kid (frank)in deserves it. On nights where the rest of the team looked like they were in a coma, the kid was still out there busting his balls and kissing the crest on his jersey. - sanfordnson
He should be in the discussion. Nobody has really taken it this year. |
