Yes, the game was different, but Hasek was the best goalie in the world for a several year stretch.
- Hemingways

You have to judge them within their own era.

Jacques Plante would get lit up by a mediocre team (like, say, the Sabres) in the modern era.

I will remember Miller for continually stoning the Leafs time and time again. I pray that he is traded to the Western Conference.

up to and after the olympics i considered him an elite goalie.

since that time his actions, 100% his own doing, have turned him into a little female dog. the only other player in the league that I can remember over the last 10 years that is in Miller territory is Avery. That says a lot about how far Miller has fallen. Go to Russia. They like dogs.

I'll remember him as a whiny little sissy always calling out his team to the press. Wherever he goes next, he needs to keep his mouth shut and his eyes on the puck. Nobody's paying him to hear him run his mouth.
- danimal6777

Like what? Give me some examples that you so blatantly remember of him "running his mouth so much" about his teammates.

huh???

he turned into a spoiled entitled whiny condescending wiener who most fans (and teammates IMO) now cant stand.

how is that too complex???

Its absolutely hilarious that you tried passing off that you used to like him...

passionate and a competitor! We know not everyone liked the ways those traits came out off the ice. Over the years I was glad to have him between the pipes.

Miller is and should be recognized as Buffalo's best goaltender to date. Hasek is close second, but his off ice attitude drops him a notch in my book.

I will remember Miller as a goalie who was SICK in breakaways, shootouts, 2 on 1's, 2 on 0's, 3 on 0's, 3 on 1's. I was also remember him as a goalie who, if the other team sets up in the zone he's (frank)ed. Lets in tons of sofites. Tons of goals over all. Chokes late in games and chokes in big games overall.

hes also responsible for why fans now feel the way they do. his fall was self inflicted...

"give me a break and let me do what i gotta do"

seriously!?!?

- battelmt

i think the fans are responsible for they're own feelings.

miller is a very good goalie. they haven't won with him - pretty small window to do that with the teams he's been played with. they didn't win with hasek either. i don't really see the point in comparing them.

Google "Miller Brothers call out Sabres". Then when you're done with that, Google "Ryan Miller calls out Patrick Kaleta". Then, finally, Google "Ryan Miller dish it out". There you'll find an article talking about Miller's insult recently against the fans of Buffalo. Don't test me on Ryan Miller. I've been familiar with his loud mouth and bad attitude since his days at Michigan State. He's a Prima Donna that is bad for the locker room. It's too bad, cause he's a good goaltender, but his attitude stinks.

Here I thought you were going to have a trail of history over the years with your prior comments, and its just a couple things that happened in our worst season since hes been on the team.

The Patrick Kaleta thing was a non-issue. Something people like you bought into it easily from the awful media we have in this country that has turned into more tabloid than fact giving. A dumb Buffalo reporter who incorrectly quoted Kaleta to Miller to illicit a response out of him after losing an important game.

What I will remember Ryan Miller for

Being a good goalie who was excellent! When the team played well in front of him

Being a whiny little dippoop who had no leadership skills at all

Sitting there in the butterfly position looking at this defensemen trying to work out how that puck got past him

The soft goals and the worse possible times that would constantly steal momentum from the team.

But a good goalie, but nothing in terms of Goalie as compared to Hasek in terms of skill and general shutzpah on the rink

Really? Hasek went the the finals and won 2 or 3 Hart Trophies, multiple Vezina's. Never mind Sabre's, one of the best tenders in NHL history. Miller never really did anything to compare with the Sabres. They both have, had bizarro personalities.

Plus he should have had a cup here in Buffalo as well, except well we all know what happened, denied by the league.
