5-0 EDM. That's a disgrace. MIN should be removed from playoff consideration just based on this performance.

Minny getting smoked - they are in tough if they don't win tonight. Back-to-back games - on to the Mile High City for tomorrow. I would love to see Columbus get in over Minny.

The lockout didn't help, I've been pretty apathetic the whole season. The style of play the Canucks have been employing hasn't helped either...

I'm not normally a troller but I got a real kick out of this comment from the Wild blogger pre-game:

With or without Pommer, I think the Wild go into this game with the exact same mind-set they had going into the LA game. Win at all costs. In my mind there is no way they let Edmonton come in their arena and even come close to spoiling their chances at a playoff berth, no way. If the Wild can duplicate or even half duplicate their intensity from the other night, Oilers will be lucky to escape with anything smaller than a 3 goal differential.

Backstroms gaudy life time stats against the Oilers should be all the evidence needed to pre-write the outcome of tonights game. Wild have domintated the Oil for the past several seasons... tonights game will be no different.

It's probably the only team they did have a winning record against. Losing 0-6 in a must win game is a disgrace.

Poolies, here's your random draft order:

Pick 1: Marwood of Cumberland
Pick 2: Mychosin Massacre
Pick 3: Lefty
Pick 4: Vancity787
Pick 5: Chest Rockwell
Pick 6: Nucker Nation
Pick 7: BigGlobe Cataclysm's
Pick 8: Fosconia Edler Apologists
Pick 9: The Shockers
Pick 10: Thundachunks Beefcakes
Pick 11: The Big Easy
Pick 12: Vantels Victories
Pick 13: Hertz
Pick 14: Bieksa's female doges
Pick 15: The Eklund Rumour's
Pick 16: Ek's Rumblings (E5)
Pick 17: sdoney snipers
Pick 18: Squamish Chiefs
Pick 19: Darius's Knights
Pick 20: Scooby Doo
Pick 21: Vintage Vandals

Freaking system drew me last, maybe I should do it again

Remember, it's a "serpentine" draft, so first pick overall is the last pick in the second round.

I know!!

At first I was pumped and then panic set in. Off to the garden for a jazz cigarette with my tumbler of vodka & soda to settle my nerves.

Ya who do you take first in a playoff pool? Last is better because you get two studs from the same team.

Except with 21 teams, and only 16 playoff teams, there aren't two studs left from one team...unless you go with the Islanders or Wild in the first round...

If you make the playoffs, then you deserve a shot at the finals as much as the Prez Trophy winner. IMO.
But I agree about the canucks. They need to get very lucky to get back.
