Agreed, his OT winner (two technically) in the only game we won in those NJ/Bos series was garbage. If he'd played better, we would have swept them both,

I don't think anybody's saying that he SHOULDN'T be bought out. Even the biggest Danny supporter has to say so. But according to some of you, it's like he's been akin to Andrew Bynum the past 2 years. Dude's a fantastic guy int he locker room and in most off ice issues. His on-ice play has been bad during the last 2 regular seasons, and that's why he's getting bought out. But some of you act like he's freaking Billy Tibbets out there making that money.

who cares about the lockeroom!? I'm so (frank)ing sick of that line. Maybe you're interested in what they do when they're sweaty and half naked, I couldn't care less. It's about producing. He's a 6.5 mil caphit who is a one trick pony that lost his lucky horse shoes. he gets pushed off the puck like a child, floats around the redline borderline offsides half the time and yes he was liability against New Jersey for four games. Wow he scored an overtime winner. I'm glad that gives him permission to utterly suck for the next four games.

Ouch! Everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess.

Edit. I want him gone too but no hard feelings.

- coffee junkie

I don't have hard feelings but I'm so sick of the crying that goes on with this guy, he's sucked for two full years here. Had a couple good playoff series in the past two years, whoop de (frank)ing doo. Where we at now?

Wow, a homosexual reference. Stay classy you.
And let's forget about the locker room, who needs team cohesion and unity.

But I agree, yeah, let's go get some pitchforks and torches are get his useless ass out of town fast.

Again, no one's saying he hasn't regressed the past 2 years, but man, you're pretty rough on a guy who's nothing but a class act.

Everytime one of these guy's career goes south and its time to move on, the old "he's great in the locker room" gets trotted out there. Oh wow I guess that means if I'm a nice guy at work I don't have to do my job.

don't put words in my mouth or turn this into something its not because your're defense of this player is as impotent as his play.

Uh... ok. I don't really think that's really what anybody's saying, but whatev. Please excuse us Flyers fans for looking fondly back on the tenure of a player who's been a pretty big positive for us on the balance of his stay.

So...you DIDN'T make a homosexual reference towards me? Then why would I be interested in them being sweaty and half naked?

I don't get why you seem to absolutely hate a guy that's been nothing but an overall positive during his stay here. Did he somehow wrong you personally?

So you're implying our current situation is Danny B's fault? I don't get what you're lashing out at here. People are just sad to see his term here come to an end, it's what we do as fans. We can be sad while still recognizing his time as a Flyer should probably be done now.

allright look I'm frustrated about missing the playoffs. This team imo should have made it to the final four THIS year. It pisses me off they are not there, so as much as everyone wants to dwell on what breire was 3 years ago, I want to focus on the present and the future.

Apparently, nothing happens in the locker room except for a bunch of sweaty naked dudes prancing around, I thought it was where the team grouped itself and tried to keep upbeat and motivated before every game and period. Guess I've been in the wrong locker rooms all my life.

I realize that you are correct and I am wrong, and apologize. Enjoy your day.

Where we are now is that
Briere is done here

he will be amnestied or if Homer can pull off a miracle, traded

it's OK for those of us who want to focus on his positives

no one is ignoring the negative aspects of his game

He's been helpful in the playoffs the past couple years. I know you don't want to hear it, but it's important. Nobody is saying he hasn't struggled through the regular season, and nobody is claiming his regular season performance is worth $6.5m. But he's been part of the team, and as with all players there's more to it than just "he doesn't deserve $X". I don't know, I just don't understand the outrage here.

If anybody were ignoring the negative aspects, they'd be actively calling for Danny B to not be bought out. No? I don't see any of that.

In a way yea it is his fault. He's the biggest cap hit on the team and has been a non factor on the scoreboard going back to last year. You bring up how he's been (fill in the blank) and the national guard gets called up to defend his honor like he's bob Clarke reborn. His leadership his class etc. Guess what I don't care. The team missed the playoffs this year.

Okay let me ask you this then, how his magnificent locker room presence paid off lately?

he feasted, as did the rest of the team, on two struggling goalies those two years. Then came up flat against boston and New jersey. Was an utter liability in the New Jersey series. And judging by how this team abandons the back check, I fully concede he's an on ice leader.

Edit: and btw let's not forget he's the biggest caphit on the team who only has to show up for a playoff series according to some of you.

- JoeRussomanno

Chillax Joe, we all know his faults and that he's gone after this season. If for no other reason I'll always like him cuz he's the reason I started watching hockey. So you get my sparkling presence in your life due to Briere...

The lines have looked great the last few games, everyone is clicking and developing that chemistry, even 5 on 5.

Couts with Hartnell and Briere have something going on.

Maybe they will..

Oh never mind

He goes awol when teams play in their own end. Not only that becomes a liability when they forecheck, his 22 points the past two years against a leaking Miller and OHL Fleury mean little to me.

Plainly, you're being unreasonable and I'm done.

Anyone else looking forward to watching Karlsson play against us Saturday? I'm actually looking forward to it, as the guy's a hell of a lot of fun to watch.
