I remember seeing that and just laughing, despite the fact it was a Rags goal.

Napped straight through 4/16. Still adjusting to the shorter days, five o'clock keeps sneaking up on me.

U could find a bad goal by any goalie if u like. Its his attitude that concerns me. Short contract though. If Briere goes the other way then fine. Not excited but apathetic. BTW Manning was terrible last night! Not even close to NHL ready.

Manning and Konan both looked like AHL players pressed into service. Pretty clear that he (Manning) has been passed by both Lauridsen and Gustafsson. I'd rather have Konan at least seeing the NHL than Foster. Speaking of which, he didn't make any glaring mistakes, but you could tell that the speed at which things happen was a bit much for him. Still, he (and Lilja) did a fine job.

And yes, any goalie is going to have gaffes that lead to goals (remember the Roy "Statue of Liberty" versus Detroit?). The real issue is whether or not Miller has an accent that WIP can associate with a humorous pop culture figure or not.

Konan on the other hand was quietly efficient. If I don't notice the defenseman he's usually doing an above average job. I was hoping we'd keep Huskins around but with Gus, Lauri, and now Konan I doubt we do. Although who knows what Holmgren will do!

FWIW, saw this on tsn.ca this morning:
Will the Philadelphia Flyers buy out goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov?

Dreger: Pierre LeBrun spoke with Flyers GM Paul Holmgren and was informed that Bryzgalov wouldn't be bought out this off-season. There is a rift between coach Peter Laviolette and Bryzgalov, but there doesn't appear to be a coaching change so it's up to both men to work out their issues.

A 'rift', eh? Wait till the beat writers get a hold of that!

Huge Danny B fan here.

He hasn't been a key part of the team for years now. And he will have a lasting effect on this franchise through the effect he had on youngsters like Giroux and Couturier. We`ve been lucky to have Briere and we'll miss him dearly the next time we're in the playoffs without him.

What a disaster of a season. Glad I missed most of the games because of class. I'm excited to see what they do in the offseason.

If Briere goes, I'll be bummed. It seems like yesterday the was signed as a free agent. I can't believe who fast time flies anymore.

I just want the chips to fall into place soon and see this team hoisting the Stanley Cup over their heads.

I guess that's one way to look at it...

To me, it looks like the team over-relied on their talent and tried to finesse their way through most of the season, making a lot of ill-advised plays/passes, and generally playing unsound hockey.

It wasn't until a month to go in the season when they finally located their lunch pails, and that was more or less because they had no choice due to injuries.

Like last year, Bryz has been Bryz... steady for stretches, not so good for stretches, occasionally bad. He's been neither the scape goat nor the savior. He has managed to avoid the "lost in the woods" streaks that plagued him last year, though.

You could question some of Lavi's calls this year, but it's more on the players, IMO.

- Tomahawk

I agree with all of this until the last part. If lavy is making questionable calls doesn't that impact the players? Furthermore if the players are to be indicted on not bringing their lunch pails to work, doesn't that too fall back on the coach?

Everyone who defends the coach points at the players, well isn't his job as a coach of a Pro sports club, to push the buttons in their heads, get them ready for games, and make adjustments to his schemes that fit his personnel and counters what the opposition is doing?

Agreed, hasn't done jack for us, what with his 22 points in 22 playoff games the last 2 years. Absolutely useless. Also, a terrible guy to have in the locker room when we had a 50% roster turnover last year and a real cancer.

I was impressed with him. He had the comcast check of the game whatever that is worth. Only one game but a fine one. Manning was a train wreck. I was previously calling for him to play. I would play him next game cause it doesnt matter but lilja or foater would be much better options imho.

he feasted, as did the rest of the team, on two struggling goalies those two years. Then came up flat against boston and New jersey. Was an utter liability in the New Jersey series. And judging by how this team abandons the back check, I fully concede he's an on ice leader.

Edit: and btw let's not forget he's the biggest caphit on the team who only has to show up for a playoff series according to some of you.

Agreed, his OT winner (two technically) in the only game we won in those NJ/Bos series was garbage. If he'd played better, we would have swept them both,

I don't think anybody's saying that he SHOULDN'T be bought out. Even the biggest Danny supporter has to say so. But according to some of you, it's like he's been akin to Andrew Bynum the past 2 years. Dude's a fantastic guy int he locker room and in most off ice issues. His on-ice play has been bad during the last 2 regular seasons, and that's why he's getting bought out. But some of you act like he's freaking Billy Tibbets out there making that money.

who cares about the lockeroom!? I'm so (frank)ing sick of that line. Maybe you're interested in what they do when they're sweaty and half naked, I couldn't care less. It's about producing. He's a 6.5 mil caphit who is a one trick pony that lost his lucky horse shoes. he gets pushed off the puck like a child, floats around the redline borderline offsides half the time and yes he was liability against New Jersey for four games. Wow he scored an overtime winner. I'm glad that gives him permission to utterly suck for the next four games.
