I disagree...Barkov would have helped, Monahan, Risto, Nischkunin or whatever would have been nice as well.

Briere, like Bryz, is overpaid...but you don't hear him throwing anyone under the bus...he's respected because he's earned it over the years. Also, he has been a class act and team player amidst a tough situation vis-a-vis his status this off season.

i don't think bryz has flat out thrown anyone under the bus by saying "this player made a bad play. this guy isn't playing well. we lost because this guy f'ed up". i just don't get the hyper/super critical focus and negative spin to everything the guy says or does. the local media has definitely made things challenging for him, he seems to be treated differently. i just don't get it. i don't even think he's weird. he talks about the universe and bears and whatever. so what? who f'ng cares. i find him fresh and interesting. everyone always clamors for players being honest, speaking their minds, being original, having some personality...then a player actually exhibits that behavior and the media/fans can't handle it.

There's a handful of guys who can likely step in a play in the NHL next year. MacKinnon, Drouin, Jones and Barkov could all probably play in the NHL next year.

Who cares he's utterly sucked this year AND last year.

Winning these games are very important because we're seeing the Great Dane has some play in his game. That's a good thing.

Dude i agree completely. But when bill comes out today and says that some members of the team flatout dont like him, i think that can have a negative effect

I couldnt give a damn if the media likes him

he was the best player in that series by a wide margin. he had a spectacular end to the regular season after an up and down beginning, until the chip fracture in his foot. even after the injury he still played well.

We all bring up bryzgalov's salary so it's only fair to apply same rationale to the biggest contract on the team. For 6.5 mil the last two seasons the flyers got jack poop and that's the cold hard truth. Yes briere was a perennial playoff performer but there's a regular season And playoffs. He didn't show up and instead I heard a bunch of panty wringing on this thread about jv(frank)ingr.
