I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling it's back to Islanders hockey. I got the feeling after the Jets game and they've sucked from that point on. Hopefully I'm wrong but we could be looking at a team on a 3 game losing streak heading into the playoffs.

I agree, we were very fortunate to get that point. I saw Canes Flyers and Sabres and thought this may not end good...we got the point we needed and now we are in 8th. Still happy but the last thing we need is Pens or Bruins in round one..it may still change if we win tomorrow but I hope Cappy plays the team that won all the games for us.

and with the sens and rangers winning, we're down to 8th. pens looming unless we win tomorrow and at least one of the sens and rangers tanks.

It's tough to kill this team when it's the first regulation loss since 3/30. They have had no luck with teams around them winning. I would love for the Isles to end up 6th but I'm going to enjoy the playoffs no matter who we play.

Ok, boys. Is it time to worry? We sit in 8th thanks to the Rags and Sens finally winning. Sabres tomorrow night and dare i say it, it's a must win to TRY and avoid the hot as hell Pens.

And I thought we could relax?!?!?!?

Maybe it'll be a wakeup call...can't skate around like you're the champs just because you got in. Hopefully they come out with a lot more jump tomorrow, get some luck from the teams around them, and finish in a better spot.

I'm thrilled the isles went on a run and made the playoffs but the last two games have been absolutely poop. Now they need to win tomorrow and need help to not come in 8th. Facing the penguins is basically best case scenario a 5 game drubbing. Nice job bumholes.

Cant get mad at them. First regulation loss all month..It was as costly game to lose but they are in the dance regardless. Just don't want to play Pitt but whatever happens happens. Still have to play the games. We would stand a much better shot against Boston but unfortunately its out of the Isles control even if they beat Buffalo tomorrow night. if they lose tomorrow night then its Pitt no matter what. But if they get the W then just need to hope one of the Rags or Sens loses their last game.
We are in the playoffs, be happy that they got this far when it was not expected in the first place. You will be watching the NYI play a playoff game at the Coliseum next week.

They're getting one of those two unless they get help from both the Sens and Rangers. Probably a matter of which one.

If we get a fifth we'd be lucky.

Oh...and Eric Boulton. A useless player taking a useless and careless penalty which leads to Philly's first goal. The guy ALWAYS has to take a dumb (frank)ing penalty with no use for it and the ensuing power play always results in a goal. No need for Boulton with Carkner and Martin in the lineup. The guy is a waste of space. I blame Cappy for that.

Back from tearing my hair out at my buddies apt. Absolutely atrocious move putting Boulton and Carkner in. Toughness my ass. Neither did sh!t except for prove how bad they are at hockey. If that leads to us drawing Pitt in the playoffs that's pathetic. I could have accepted the loss if we iced out best team possible, but we didn't. I'm thrilled we're in the playoffs, but if they are just going to be complacent with being in and not want the best seed possible that's awful.

I'm usually pretty even keeled with this team, through all of the sh!t we've gone through, but tonight set me off big time. I get sitting Nabokov, but sitting one of the defenseman from our best offensive pairing? For Carkner? That's just terrible.

Capuanos lack of intelligence rears it's ugly head once again. That was a disappointing loss to a very beatable team last night. Playing those two was boneheaded.

Would have be nice to be able to rest JT and some other guys for tomorrow.

Not for nothing, but its a short season... why does everyone need rest?? They normally play an 82 game season plus playoffs.
