Isles on the ice for AM skate in Philly... Looking like Poulin may get the start in goal tonight. - Per Staple

My concern is that Philly isn't playing for anything. Their a physical team and I could easily see guys on Philly taking liberties with guys like JT, Moulson, etc. maybe out of sheer frustration or whatever. I'd like to keep some semblance of a physical presence out there, without having to rely on Matt Martin to do all the protecting.

i agree...it would be bush league to do this but then again, were talking about the flyers.. better safe then sorry...id play at least 1 of carkner/boulton.

only reason why i see poulin starting is Nabby must be exhausted. that said, I dont feel confident with Poulin tonight as Philly has been play well as of late.

Yea he has to be exhausted but I like Poulin... He has to make a couple of easy saves and get into the game and I think even with Philly playing well, if the Isles can score a goal or two early, they might pack it in for the evening.

Good. Giving Nabby a rest can be a good thing. Also avoid any chance of injury. I say let JT play minimal minutes today. No sense in risking him before the playoffs.

Congrats on the playoffs.
I am guessing the Isles would like to re sign Streit.
Is the hold up him wanting a 3 + year deal?

I like it but to a point. Carkner AND Boulton is not necessary. One of them plus Martin is enough. Boulton is a giant waste of space and Carkner is basically a road cone. I say play Carkner and leave Boulton out of the lineup.

I dont want the team to sit down and relax in these last 2 games. Getting the 8th seed would be terrible. Very happy we made it to the dance but playing Pitt in round 1 aint gonna be pretty.

I could be wrong but I thought I read somewhere that the Isles and Streit were about 500k per year off... If this is the case, I think that will get worked out. (Maybe heard it from Gallof)

I have been battling pneomonia but I just wanted to say that I am proud of the Islanders and Cappy and GArth and even Wang. Hopefully we keep it going into the playoffs and next year.

No way I would dress Finley as well and let them rough up the Flyers for a change instead of the other way around

Yeah, you know what? They're not good anyway. We also had injuries for the last three years before this; you didn't see anyone saying "the Islanders are great, they just have injuries". That's straight up bullsh*t, in my view. They are pretty much what they are, IMO- a mediocre team with two average goaltenders, and S L O W defensemen. I'm not seeing them in the playoffs next year either, unless they DO actually get Luongo...and then they'd have to get rid of so many people to make that happen, Luongo would probably think he's back in Florida.

I expect a win tonight- now that the Isles are done scrambling for a spot, it's time to relax and go back to what they were doing defensively prior to the Toronto game. Just play your position, take care of your business, and it all comes together.

Edit: I have to work in Bristol, PA, today, so I might just take a cruise down to the building and see if I can make my way in.

I can't figure out if this post is serious or not. Flyers aren't good at all, Isles injuries are much worse, Luongo, etc etc. The flyers are a good YOUNG team, sure they are not making the playoffs this season, that doesn't mean they don't have a young core that will be good for years to come. As for injuries, last year's Isles vs this years Flyers, the Flyers win in that department easily as well. No, Luongo is not the answer, While Bryz hasn't been what he was in Phoenix he hasn't been 100% the problem. The Flyers system is a big part of the problem for the defense / goalie, it leaves the goaltender out to dry. Mason has looked very good since being traded to Philly. You can diss the Flyers as much as you want but atleast make sure it's true.
