berglund would be great. I'd give up a late 1st for his rights. Him or wheeler on a first line would fill some needs

And lets not forget clutterbuck as an RFA.

Glenx/Clutterbuck on a line. that would be fun to play against.

Is Cluster(frank) a right shooting RW?

Except you can't choose what first you give up. It has to be your own pick, not one acquired from another team. So any offer sheet, should calgary not have immediate success next year, involving a first would be a bad idea.

to trade for his rights? not offer sheet (that would be a 1st and 3rd for his salary level).

Ah sorry, misunderstood what you meant. But yeah, and I feel like it would take more than a first to pick him up. Would love to get him but not sure if they'd give him up.

I doubt the Blues would trade for his rights. If they were going to trade Berglund, it would be after they sign him to a deal and get more value for him. I don't see the Blues trading him though as we are thin at C and heavy at wingers.

My guess, he stays in Pit. Would you not want to play there. He has lots of money, but no Cups.

Toronto, good one.

Imo - takes a solid offer from Pitts or hits the market and takes the best deal for him and his family. Comes back for a few games to Calgary down the road and retires.

All the more reason Pitt needs to get upset in the 1st round. That house of his sold in like 3 days for 4.0mill. Thats pretty quick, I wonder if he agreed to autograph the walls & fire mantels for that price.

Did I miss something in the listing? How do you all know it's his house? I mean aside from the rink in the house.

People that live in the same neighbourhood know that it's his. Parents of a girl I'm dating live down the street.

Good blog. As much as you guys are our rivals, I actually like you guys compared to many other teams (starts with a "V" and ends with "ancouver"). Things suck for both of us but hopefully something will pull through soon and Alberta will finally stop being the laughing stock of the NHL.

And for those of you who wonder how a true Oilers fan could not HATE the Flames, like my profile says, I'm from San Diego, so I don't exactly get to "live" the rivalry every day. (I assume its akin to the Chargers and the Raiders here, if you follow the NFL) I'm sure if I was from Alberta I'd be calling you all a bunch of jealous crybabies so...consider this an outsiders perspective.

Edit: Now that I think about it, maybe the reason I don't hate the flames so much is because they were my dad's "favorite" team. My dad (who was never a HUGE hockey fan) has liked the flames since I was a kid, and now thinking back, I'm pretty sure he was just trying to troll me. What a Richard.

Well considering he still has a house in Kelowna B.C. i'd say there's still a chance.

Also, watching the world under 18s today and previously, I think Calgary should give some serious thought at taking Josh Morrissey with a later pick. He is playing great for Canada, speed, sees the ice well and can shoot the puck. Could be a steal if he's taken where he's ranked. (27th)

I don't know if I'm that smart... I'm considering ending things with her in favour of one of the other girls I'm seeing. Dark haired English lass that makes me melt with her accent...

He was interested in staying Calgary if they had a chance to win.... that is at least 6 years away, maybe more. He is done!
