And yet with all of this "UNTOUCHABLE" talent. All the top draft picks. A completely shiatty Calgary Flames team full of nobodies gets more points than the Oilers. Hell the Columbus Beej's might actually make the playoffs. With another bunch of nobody talent. I'm starting to think Edmonton's Scouting and your belief in that is the problem. Out of all the talent drafted, the only one who is a surefire winner is Hall. The rest? Not so much.

Looks awesome but I think it'd take Eberle+ to get McDonagh. Idk offer sheet Shattenkirk, lose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd maybe, doubt it though. Chris Stewart'd probably take a package centred around Klefbom and maybe a 1st.

So there'd be no 2013 and 2014 1st, 2014 2nd, 2014 3rd, Klefbom, Eberle, and some other assets going the other way.

Those'd have to be accounted for on your optimal roster. I'd absolutely trade Eberle+ for Mcdonagh. Don't know why NYR would though. 6M wouldn't help their cap problems.

I agree. This Team must show they are close to being a playoff team next year, and flirt with 8th place for more than 2 days as well. I think we will see 1 mahjor asset acquired this summer Via trade (maybe the pick) and some actual activity in the UFA market. For sure I see 5 new Oilers come fall.

I'll be surprised if any make it out of the first round.

Why are there no optimists left here. We play chicago, then FLY to Minnie for a game then play Van the next night. The odds of us winning another game with Hemsky and RNH injured are slim. We are in 5th right now. Nashville plays detroit and columbus. 1 win and we are in 4th. Tampa plays the already clinched boston and toronto. Then they finish against the last placed team florida. 2 of 3 and we are in third. Which gives us about a 15% chance during the lottery. First place has 25%. I say bring on Jones!
