Alright, so I'll start out by pointing their most obvious short-coming, and that is the On-ice Corsi rating of each of your individual players. Corsi, in case you didn't know, is a stat that measures the "on-ice shot differential (goals + saves + missed shots + blocks). This is expressed as a rate stat per 60 minutes." When looking at this particular stat (seen at #1 at the bottom of the page) you'll see that the Leafs are horribly deficient with not a single player on the team achieving a positive rating. This mean that no matter who you have out on the ice, your team is consistently getting out-possessed (and not in the spiritual sense). Even when watching Leafs games you can see that they get trapped in their own zone all too often and for all too long. They've been lucky to have avoided having more goals in. In the vast majority of cases, teams that succeed like this are very likely to come crashing back down to Earth in the following season, thus an increase in the number of goals against.

Next we'll take a look at their key contributor's shooting % individually (seen at #2 on the bottom of the page). Seeing as the average shooting % for most NHL players over any prolonged period is between 9% and 12%, I think you can understand my skepticism in the ability for players like Lupul, Bozak, McClement, JVR, and, in particular, Kadri to maintain their level of production into next season. As such, a likely dip in offense produced.
