I like the idea of Stalberg and Horton. Not so sure about white...
Better idea than trying to get Vanek

- K-dizzle

I sort of disagree. Usually I'm all about getting two very solid scorers as opposed to one "all star" caliber one, but at this point it really seems what this team is missing is another top forward, ala someone to "replace" Parise. I think for this team right now that's more valuable to more depth.

That said, I'd still be down for Stalber and/or Horton.

soo we have Zajac, Henrique, Josefson, Loktionov, Gionta.. Josefson showing some good hockey sense tonight. He really is a 3rd line center but he could potentially mature into Filppula-type center. 5 useful, very different centers.

Agreed.. but this is where we're at. Give up the world for a (2014UFA) Vanek and hope to re-sign him.. or go this route. Getting Stalberg and Ryder/Horton would definitely help us A LOT.. a real lot. And maybe Boucher will eventually develop into that top scorer. I think with 2 of those 3 players we could be very strong, and deep. Just look how good they're playing with their heads relaxed. Elias looks great. Zajac looks great. Zubrus and Josefson look solid. Sullivan is playing well. Kovalchuk is himself. all we need is Clarkson to score..

The more I think about it and imagine them on the ice, the more I REALLY want Stalberg and Horton or Ryder.. but definitely Stalberg. His size+speed combo is hard to find.

Horton will not be cheap even though he is injury prone he could likely put up 70 points when healthy 60 at least Clarkson will get like 3.5 and he is 35-45 pt player

We don't exactly get our pick of the litter, and if we do, it's for two years too long on the contract. It's probably best to leave those UFAs alone.

Ryder's likely to re-sign with the Canadiens and Horton is injury prone. Ian White had two good years and many mediocre ones... don't even think about him.

I'd prefer to scavenge for the time being until we "develop" another star player or opportune one like we did Kovalchuk.

I don't think we need a top caliber winger, just a 50ish point scorer. We add that piece and we can roll four good lines, use players like Clarkson in their more natural role, and much less pressure on each player to score.

No playoffs... mediocre pick. Good old margins...

Josefson had a hell of a game. I don't know what we do next season with all these centers. We have Zajac, Loktionov, Henrique, Josefson and Gionta. Zajac is here to stay, we know that. Gionta too I would hope. He is the perfect 4th line center, other than his faceoff ability, especially with the CBGB line being dominant. Unless one of the 3 switches to LW, do we move one? Possibly in a package? I'd think Henrique has the most value. Loktionov has looked good so far, resign him. Henrique or Josefson could be the odd man out. Good problem to have I suppose.

better get one hell of a return if you are looking to move Henrique he is possibly the next captain of this team personally he would be the last or second last player on this team I would consider moving and the other would be Larsson sure Zajac is locked up but there is no doubt in my mind that Adam becomes the better player and will probably get a nicer contract I might not do it right away as in the off season or even next year but maybe the year after I would be strongly considering trying to move Zajac ESPECIALLY if he doesn't do a lot better next year

I think we might just have to sit on our problem. I don't think Zajac or Henrique are going anywhere, and Lokti, JJ, and Gio wouldn't bring back enough in a trade to justify trading them.

Lokti might pick up value but it wont be for another year unless he regresses but Gio has 0 JJ might get you a fifth and Zajacs has dropped drastically I would say with his contract and lack of points and I get that points are not everything but you can pay guys a lot less to play defense and put up mediocre points

Honestly I really hope we don't sign white, and especially for 3.6 mil. You guys are nuts, I wouldn't offer more than .650

Yes, but you still might get some redemption. If the Rangers lose in Carolina, you can take out your revenge on them.

alright my bad. i just remember him being pretty good on a bad Toronto team. meh. ok.
Give me Stalberg!
resign Clarkson around 3.5 .. do we dare bring back Sullivan? I like Horton, even if he is injury prone. He'd be a great fit on the 2nd line RW.

The way I see it, we either acquire someone for the 2nd line RW, or someone for the top line LW.. Zubrus can't play both positions

Nice to see Elias working well with Zajac. Hope they stick together for the next 2 years.. it seems that any player besides Kovalchuk is a good fit for them.

if Carolina can muster up a regulation win over the Rangers Thursday, all Winnipeg needs is one point vs the Habs for us to have the shot at knocking New York out (again, just in a lesser fashion )

Horton would be a good fit for us, because we don't play with reckless abandon like the b's. so I think his injuries won't be as frequent.
