I really have zero idea what they will do with Bryzgalov. I wouldn't be surprised or upset either way.

I was very pro Bryz, and I still like the guy. But the results have been mixed. Still, I think they have to think long and hard on it, and look at the options available. I don't think they can go with Mason as the starter out of the gate-perhaps do a Hackett-Esche type deal to start, with Emery or Backstrom or maybe even a Brian Elliott(althought I see him as a pure system goalie) or Jose Theodore tandem and make it an open competition.

I think the best plan is keep Bryz and Mason for the next season.. buy out Briere and then use the buyout on Bryz in 14 if need be and Mason clearly proves to be a #1. All this depends on whether or not we can fix the D with the cap space Briere gives.. if not, you have to look at it.. not because Bryz sucks but because of the cap money..

I do lean to keeping Bryz another year, but there are other options. If I had to guess, I'd say it's 60-40 that Bryz stays, until at least next summer.

I just want a plan in place if they do cut the cord.

While we all experienced season, have to wash it out start fresh. Give Bryz another year, buy out briere.

I like what was suggested w/ schenn - coots- Simmonds as 2nd line. Tweak defensive philosophy with our best and roll with it.
Pleasantly surprised with Gus, Oliver to go with schenn, Timmo, grossmann and coburn. Gervais, mez and huskins to back up.

Don't trade read, coots or b schenn

Yeah, I like Ray. He's a battler and coming back from his condition is inspiring. I do feel he'd be their top choice if they decide on utilize the nuclear option on Bryz

I'm sure there has already been internal talks about moving on from bryz, to me it just makes sense. Buying out bryz and briere frees up almost 12mil.

Read and Lauridsen's goals seven seconds apart tied a franchise record for quickest in one period.

According to the Flyers' media guide, the previous two instances were as follows: Dave Brown/Brian Propp on 12/2/86 in a 7-1 win against St. Louis and Moe Mantha/Ron Sutter in a 4-3 loss against Washington on 12/27/88.

Me and Hammarby saw this live with Sutter scoring two goals in 15 seconds. What a slacker.

Can someone explain why Flyers were so determined to have Briere on Schenn's line instead of the other way around?

I would really like some creativity and passing skills on our 2nd line. That is why I don't like Schenn as our 2nd center....

Just saw the highlights....

-Read's goal was sweet
-SCOREACEK. Kid has been a force this year. He's up there with Read in the Money-On-A-Breakaway Department
-Lucic tried to hit Schenn....Schenn's like GET OFF ME CHILD
-Mason was sharp again and making really good reflex saves (almost last hope saves) that we haven't seen in a real long time
-The kids on D continued their strong play
-G looked like he was in the mix a lot in the Ozone. Good to see, and it looks like he, Voracek, and Gags have really good chemistry going

Couturier should be the 2nd center with Schenn on his wing....

I have to say, Giroux was just amazing with looking off on those passes (as Engblom rightly noted). He forced Chara to cheat toward him on the V goal (preventing him from catching V) and forced Seidenberg to play the shot before dishing a perfect pass over to Gags. I don't know that those are goals if G doesn't look them off like he did. Things like that are among the things that separate him from most others in the league.

Liked Ollie's tenacity and compete level...could be a solid third pairing guy.
Manning made some nice plays despite that gaffe. Gus made some decisive puck moving plays, and got some shots off from the point...Schenn was beast on D, and made some good plays in the offensive zone. Mason did his job, well.
Briere looked like he had some jump...just couldn't make it all click.

Agree with everything except the Briere part and Gus played solid D- really tough on the puck in the d- zone.

As much as I like Gus and can recognize his improvement this season, it's a pretty sad state of affairs that we go from Timonen to him as the point man on our #1 PP unit.

Lauridsen is learning and getting better every game. Ok, maybe every other game, but still...

Keep the Schenn Bros. together next season and expect big things from them both.

Sign Gags.

And eat your vegetables.

Tell that to Couturier.

Actually, tell him to eat a 32 oz steak every day!

I think they will keep him too and only because of the huge payout involved. They could hope that he maybe returns to form. I just do not know how they can justify the cap space for both Bryz and Mason??
