how was the Ott fight
- Homer

Boring. Neither guy really landed any punches. It was more or less them hanging onto each other trying to prevent one another from getting any good chances.

I thought Ladd could have had a penalty. He jumped to hit Ehrhoff.
Ott did the right thing!

He's got 1 room done so far. I think he's planning on working on the deck next. Since the weather is getting warmer.
- HonkFortheGoose

Best of luck to the guy. Hopefully it doesn't become a never-ending money pit like a lot of other unfortunate cases.

I didn't really see a good angle of the hit on Ehrhoff, but I have no problem with Ott sticking up for a teammate either way.

I don't think NSH or CAR will pass us. Our best bet is Philly, EDM, and CLG. Gotta hope PHX and NJ stay ahead

with the Sabres not getting anohter point all season.

Car and Nsh would have to go 2-0-1
Cal 1-2-0 (0-0-3)
TBL 3-0-0
Phily 0-0-3 (1-1-1)
Edm 1-2-1

Its a long shot but we have a chance at still potentially picking top 3. Come on luck!!!!

Hope for a lot of 3 pt games.

I think that's a terrible thing to do. They can't just give it to him to keep him here. Someone needs to earn it.

If they do that, I think I'll have to permanently change my allegiance to the Blackhawks.

He hasnt earned it yet?

Just going off of what he said around the trade deadline, it sounds like he'll be leaving whether he's traded or not.
- Jeffmt

Everyone misinterpreted those statements. He said he wouldn't be on board if we were going for a long-term rebuild like Pittsburgh or Edmonton. He specifically said if it was a quick re-tool he would like to stay in Buffalo.

Nobody has. Roll with 4 As next year (Myers/Ehrhoff, Otter, Hodgson, Foligno) and let them duke it out for C in the year after.

Note: As you can see, my plans show Van & Staff being gone too

Vanek has said he doesn't want to stick around for a long term rebuild. He's not a player you let walk for nothing. So he's more than likely going to get traded. Either prior to next season or at the deadline.
- HonkFortheGoose

I think Vanek is contingent on how we do next season. If we are a playoff team or show major improvement I think he would like to stay. I really doubt we trade him during the offseason unless the return is impossible to refuse. If we do trade him it is most likely around the deadline.

In his comments near the deadline Vanek said that he would like to stay in Buffalo if it is a quick re-tool, just not a 4-5 year rebuild like Pittsburgh or Edmonton

Why would you even want him to stay? It seems whenever I hear about the Sabres it's Miller saying something that pisses everyone off

So why keep him? He has no leverage and they shouldn't trust him or his agent considering what happened with his last contract. Trade him with a year left while you can get a lot for him. No sense risking decreasing his value while trying to "impress" him next year to try to make him want to stay. We are rebuilding we shouldnt be patching holes to try to please Thomas Vanek

Not to mention Thomas Vanek is like a tier 4 star who will be 31 years old during his next contract. Time to trade him to get a tier 1 or 2 star that has their whole career in front of them.

Why would any team make the kind of trade u suggest?
No team is giving up a young star for an aging one, especially if Vanek is 2 or 3 "tiers" below the guy u want...
That's wishful thinking
We'll get a good return for him, but it's likely gonna be closer to the return we got from the pominville deal than it will be getting some young stud

1 star is potential
