Well said on that issue.
However there are other issues that are a little more forceful, like some people (and I know it wasn't ALL of a particular group) trying to make it so cases could be tried according to Sharia law instead of Canadian law. I'm glad that shot that down (maybe one thing McGuinty did right) but it might pop up again. I'm 100% against that, if you come to Canada you don't get to keep your legal system, I don't go to another country and demand they try my case according to Canada's justice system. It doesn't work that way. You follow the law of the land, if you don't like the law of that land then don't go there.
Not to mention Sharia law is pretty brutal and sexist to it's very core, but that's another debate entirely. - deerow84
Yeah, well they can ask for whatever they want.
I am not too concerned that some citizens are going to somehow gain the right to be tried under the laws of their "homeland". Not happening, no worries.

The mention of golf turns me into Pavlovs dog lately...itchin to get out. - Colin Dambrauskas
I have only managed to hit one small bucket of balls so far. I am hoping to go out on Friday.
I mean, I suck as a golfer anyway, but yeah this horrible April has really been a downer for those of us looking forward to golfing season. |

Women should have the right to dress as my avatar.
Men should have the right to select which women get to dress as my avatar.
Parliament should make it compulsory for for the women, who were chosen by the men, to dress like my avatar.
After that... who cares about turbans, kirpans, or burkhas.

Loving it.
Leafs make the playoffs, I come here to discuss this amazing occurence, and the discussion is turbans, golf and muslims.
Good ol' Leaf thread. Trade Kessel. Whine after wins, and avoid the playoff hype. |

I'm not saying they are bad people.... I have no problem with them. I never said anything about converting or anything. All I'm saying is that Canada shouldn't be conforming to others. Here are the rules, follow them. We shouldn't be have court proceeding to see if it's OK for some (not all based on religion) to do some things that we have deemed against our laws/regulations. - burn
You pretty much summed up Australia...I'm sure their motto is "Liveth by our rules or get the (frank) out." |

I support your avatar, and feel like performing a ritual in its honour.
Cultural discussion aside...the NHL standings look pretty rad right now...Boston with a game in hand on Montreal. I honestly didn't think Boston would catch Montreal that's how impressively they Habs were rolling, but could it be that we might actually have Habs vs. Leafs in the playoffs? Amazing. |

I used to be in the 280-320 range but have started to slice the ball as I try to gain more power over my last two years....been bringing the ball closer to the center of my stance and going for accuracy over distance....250-280 is what I shootin' for, but on the F'n fairway this year!! - Colin Dambrauskas
I spent all summer trying to correct my slice. I managed to almost eliminate it completely. Unfortunately, the total overhaul of my swing ruined every other club.
Anyway... what finally worked to correct the slice was bring my hands in closer to my body. This caused the arc of my swing to be more up/down and less of a horizontal circular motion.
(obviously there were other adjustments also, like bring my top hand more over the top and concentrating more on locking my front arm, but the hands in closer to the body was the biggest improvement)
You are probably a better golfer than I am, but it was worth a mention since that one thing made a HUGE, all-of-a-sudden, difference in fixing my slice. |

Yeah the cap is not a problem... as long as you want to ice the same crappy team next year.
Yeah, you were trolling, and someone made you look stupid so you backed off. Best you take take your gutless, ignorant ass out of here and go discuss the virtues of being 200 lbs overweight with the rest of your Flyer buddies. - Aetherial
I wasn't trolling, I was being pretty sincere. No one made me look stupid, someone did point out that ESPN was airing HD in 1999, although it doesn't really take away from my point. I'm 19 and probably a couple lbs under weight but not all of us can be super tough guys on the internet. |

Best case for the Leafs I think. Especially if the Habs continue to struggle...though I dont see it going on much longer as the playoffs approach. |

Yeah, I hear ya. I have little problem getting the ball out to 275-280, but was consistently hitting the Mike Weir Special 40 yards into the trees. I have more confidence in my fairway woods and hybrids, so I figure chopping off almost 2" of my driver a-la-Tiger should help with the consistency. My driver has gotten into my (frank)ing head over the past season - p_zub
my driver has been in my head for the past two years...it was the one thing I did with confidence for most of my golf life...then I changed my swing to improve my irons (which are solid now btw)...but I cant drive the ball without slicing for the life of me!! I often just take a four iron or fairway wood off the tee to keep it in play
Going to spend a lot of time at the range with nothing but my driver this year. Killing my game. |

easiest things for beginners is to slow your swing down and play a 75% swing in relation to your body....most people have troubles connecting properly on their follow through because they get their hands too far up and away from their body and then dont follow through afterwards. Need to keep your swing simple....swing back 75% hands up, follow through 100% hands up. |

I would quite honestly be happy with a 200 yard drive if it was in the fairway. I have only ever golfed with ONE person who actually did hit over 300 yards off the Tee... despite the claims of about 80% of golfers that they can do so.
In fact, I have only see about 2 people ever hit that far at the driving range.
