I think moving Miller would be a HUGE mistake. He's not done, by any means. His return would be much lower than his (potential) value. Keep him. He will turn this around and Buffalo will absolutely regret moving him. In Miller I trust.

Embattled Goalie swap, Miller for Bryz?

Would be funny to watch that one shake out.

I'll gladly drive each goalie to their new destination. I'd prefer to start with Miller coming to Philly to ensure the Sabres couldn't back out.

Nobody is saying he is done as a goalie but he's definitely done here. Both sides just seem sick of each other and keeping him probably prevents us from getting a top 5 pick next year

Only problem is that apparently Miller's struggles in Buffalo at times have been due to bad defense, I don't see that changing if he got dealt to Colorado. He'd probably be very inconsistent just like Varlamov is now. IMO Colorado will need to get creative, which probably means making a trade or two to improve the defense.

Like I agreed to previously we do need help on D.My idea? Try to move Stastny, Jones(David) and one of our expendable D Hejda maybe?. Move Stastny for a Solid 1-4 Dman maybe add Jones to make sure its a 1-2 Dman. This is if we don't get the first overall pick and have to make a trade to get Seth, if we dont get the first overall offer either Jones + our first which I doubt would be enough so Stastny+our first to make it more likely.

So situation is the trade of Stastny for a quality Dman from another team which results in.
EJ - New acquired D (wether it be through trade or drafting Jones if he's good enough let him play.)
Barrie- Wilson
Elliot - O'Brien
And we also have Duncan Siemens in our system as a hopeful savior to our D corps as well. Its a young group but I believe can work pretty dang well.

This is true. Middle of the road numbers on a struggling team is still impressive and in no part due to his personal play. If he has a bad attitude it's because the team has deteriorated significantly since they were a playoff team. Management made some suspect moves in the past few years. Extending Miller wasn't one of them.

Stastny will be traded either the offseason or by next years trade deadline, but for what its hard to tell. Its difficult to gauge his trade value and what GM's would give up for him. No one will want jones, too expensive and he had a bad year, he will most likely be a compliance buyout either this summer or next.

Sherman almost has no choice but to trade up for Jones honestly, the PR is too good and he is exactly what we need. It would be good to give EJ a real partner.

Avs need to improve all over. I wouldn't mind signing Hainsey or someone like it. Zannon should be buried in the AHL and never be allowed to play again and Hunwick should be a last case a 7th or 8th Dman.

Hejda is one of the only Dmen we have had play well but the average fan wouldn't notice that.

Drouin would be a good second option however I would want a new coach that knew anything about offense before he plays for us.

I agree. But it may not be their decision anymore. It also depends on whether he wants to stay after next year. If he does, I think they should definitely keep him. I think they can turn things around with a two-year re-tooling rather than a full-fledged rebuild, and in that case, Miller's the guy they'll want once the proper team is in front of him. If he doesn't want to come back though, there's no point in keeping him just for next season.

Historically, high priced veteran goalies, even at the top of their game, bring very little on the trade market. So all this talk about established young stars or top prospects is not very accurate in what Buffalo would get back. I'd expect more in the line of a draft pick (say a 3rd rounder) and a decent prospect, that's it.

8th Dman? Sounds like you plan on Sacco being there next season. I posted earlier that I don't kbkw how the free agent market for dmen look this off-season so I couldn't pitch in much on that. Hejda can go both ways on my scale, although I have only watched 4 games this season due to being in a country that has internet data use like a damn cell phone service.

My Dynasty League roster says yes. To a contender. With a stout defence. Too bad the Leafs have Reimer and Scrivens - they match both desired criteria.

So by this logic, Dubnyk should be a Vezina candidate?

If Sacco isn't gone by the off season someone in the front office should be fired. Too many good coaches out there right now to stick to a below average one that obviously cant get this team into the playoffs.

Hejda has played well ever since we signed him, a solid Dman. He has received one of the stars of the game multiple nights on his solid D play alone.

The FA pool is slim. There are some decent Defensive Dman but one this is for sure which is that Zanon is just TERRIBLE and hunwick isn't good enough (let alone sacco gives him the most ice time out of ANY other player this year, just awful)

I would like to see if we can get Russel or Cole from STL for a decent price as they are so deep on Dmen

I'm thinking Edmonton may be a good trade partner for Buffalo with Miller and Eberle as the key pieces to building the trade
- jimbri

I've been saying Miller for Eberle for months. Miller would never do it with his NMC.

Halak, Berglund and Cole for Miller and Ott. BLUES need a healthy goaltender and a player with serious grit to win

I think trading Miller is a foregone conclusion but as for where, let's see where Ruff ends up and that very well might be Miller's next destination.
