Cool man. I'm new to the whole twitter thing. Actually surprised that you found me on there. Any recommendations for people I should follow?
- Killian

I dont have an account, but I do occasionally check the twitter pages from the guys at tsn for updates. They seem to be pretty on top of things. Bmac, Dreger, Lebrun and I even kept an eye on Spector from sporting news during the lockout.

He's been awfully quiet with his Crosby scoops lately.

True. Probably was praying to hear he was in a quiet room somewhere, even though he said he wasn't. He should stick to covering Giroux's wrists, Hartnell's ex-wife and try to suck up to Bryzgalov.

I think that Ottawa guy who wrote the column about his own testicles (and Matt Cooke) is on twitter. Feel free to follow him.

The other night (was it last night?*) Kypreos said he doesn't expect to see Crosby back until Round 2 at the earliest. Now I don't think he knows anymore than anyone else so I'll believe it when i see it. My guess is if we get to 2 losses in round 1 he'll be out there.

As he should, kid has been great.

I want to caution everyone in here, based on what I read more so in other blogs. There seems to be a ridiculous amount of over confidence from this fan base. I hope I need not remind everyone what we have seen the last 3 years when we get our injured stars back. We have seen numerous times that this team plays out of their mind when these guys are out, and when they come back everything is out of whack because everyone tries to get them the puck, they're not up to game speed, take lazy penalties etc.

So while this team is stacked and I realize it's hard not to get wrapped up in the success they are having, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We are going to have to beat 4 good teams to claim the prize. The fall is harder when you expect to win. See 1993.

- canadianpenfan

agreed 100%. I think NYR could actually beat us in round 1. I think as is, we would beat the Sens or Jets pretty easily but the Islanders could at least make a series out of it.

key is for guys to learn from their mistakes last year. I really think they have and their play has reflected it thus far.

Didn't know you were an Orioles fan. I lived in Baltimore for 13 years...just moved back to the burgh last Summer. I hung out with Adam Jones after one of the games last year, his neighbor skydives with my old roomate. Cool dude

He's a Bills fan, by choice. Remember that when you read his views on sports. I mean seriously, who would listen to what he has to say knowing he chooses to cheer for the Bills?

I'm all for the You Can Play movement in the NHL and all that nice stuff but i think its a little over the top that Tyler Seguin has to meet with YCP folks because he said "no homo" in a tweet last night.

Apparently because of the newly minted partnership of the NHL and YCP Seguin will have to be "educated" now about being mildly offensive.

Seems a bit much if you ask me.

- Gunner Staal

My problem with the whole thing was Patrick Burke (who I really like on twitter), addressing it, and using the term "educating" about talking to Seguin.

I'd be fine with Burke spending a couple of minutes talking with Seguin about it, but bringing the attention to it publicly was a bit much. Likely he (Burke) was getting bugged about it, but just say that they are aware of it, and will follow up with Seguin.

no... what did he mean? he meant that he really doesn't care what she thinks was a penalty or wasn't because he thinks she doesn't know the game and because she's never played it...

it has absolutely nothing to do with gender... it has to do with the fact that he thinks she doesn't know anything about the game... he would have said the same thing to any male reporter as athletes do all the time.

this is just another example of people trying to make something out of nothing...

- SuperHenderson13

I agree with this. When I read the comments I didn't immediately think he was demeaning her because she was a woman. My initial reaction was that he was demeaning her because she asked a stupid question, and he would have had the same response regardless of it was a dude instead.

I usually miss a bit when I'm at work. I run down my feed when I get home. Didn't see his stuff on that. We'll find out I guess. All I know is that Martin is somewhat close which is great news. Have to think you're right. If that were to happen he might be forced to wear the Bane mask.

And yeah

Patrick Burke is exactly why I don't like this situation, and precisely for the reason you mentioned. (I also enjoy his tweets but in this isolated event, not so much)

This should have been done under the radar. Burke has a large audience and the fact he felt the need to take Seguin to task using that large audience is what I have the most problem with.

Edit: Basically I just should have said I agree with you and saved myself from writing all of that.

Seemed fine with me. The guy is 21 too. Obviously he's in a different position than most 21 year olds and he has to be more conscious of what he says, but it wasn't a big deal. Definitely didn't merit a public scolding. Tell the media you spoke to him and leave it at that. In house stuff. As a Lonely Island listener---I found it a bit funny.

Ha Ha he sure is. Kind of similar to me being a Pirates fan by choice.

And I think Crosby plays game 1 of the playoffs

All the numbers awesome. That just stands out as something on a entirely different level of cool.

146 games without a goal.

Comes to Pittsburgh.

Scores.
