I'm all for the You Can Play movement in the NHL and all that nice stuff but i think its a little over the top that Tyler Seguin has to meet with YCP folks because he said "no homo" in a tweet last night.
Apparently because of the newly minted partnership of the NHL and YCP Seguin will have to be "educated" now about being mildly offensive.
Seems a bit much if you ask me. - Gunner Staal

i really don't see the problem with his comments... - SuperHenderson13
It was rude but I agree. I don't see it being that big of a deal. He was pissed they lost, the reporter knew what buttons to push...end of story really. |

Here's the whole thing:

She is an idiot, no doubt, and instead of just asking him about the slash like she wanted, she keeps asking vague, leading questions.
Still though, he could have handled it much better, he's been in the league for like 10 years, I'm sure he's dealt with more annoying reporters than her. - rival22
First time I got to listen to the whole thing--thanks! He seems pretty collected answering all the other questions from reporters and then she comes in like a jealous ex trying to beat around the bush rather than come out and ask her question specifically. Frankly his response was more than appropriate--she is the one coming in with a know it all attitude and he just returned the favor. |

Wow! He really was respectful about what he said. The dismissal was actually hilarious. "Okay, See ya" |

If Brooksie was female Tortorella would have been fired for sexual harrassment 10 times. - canadianpenfan
haha I've probably watched all 3 fights with Brooksie a hundred times. Tortorella is an ass but Brooksie has that slob face and likes to make stupid/ironic questions As for Keith, he "had to mention" the gender to make his ironic comments. Funny but I'm sure it's a little disrespectful. |

Exactly. I'd think that more straight people would be offended by it than gay people. I can't say that for sure but I think we overreact anticipating something will offend other people.
I get the league doesn't want to make bad on the deal, which is an awesome one, but it's a bit ridiculous. Hey didn't use a slur or anything. Lighten up. |

Society is too sensitive these days. There is a much wider gap between what Keith said and what I would deem sexist. For instance:
Thomson: “Well, there it looked like there was a penalty that went undetected. You seemed a bit frustrated.”
Keith: "Yea I am frustrated, why are YOU asking me these questions, come over later and make me an omellette sweetheart."
Now that is what I would consider sexist.
What he said is something he would say to a reporter of either gender. |

Back to the Pens real quick, and TIOPS mentioned this on twitter last night, but it looks like Tanner Glass is thankfully getting phased out for the playoffs.
The key argument for him dressing in the playoffs was for PK play.
But last night, he only had 0:25 of SH ice time, while guys like Kunitz (1:44) and Jokinen (1:25) picked up some decent PK time in addition to the normal workhorses like Adams, Cooke, Sutter & Dupuis.

Probably a sign that Bennett has played himself into the lineup. |

I'll take Beau, thanks.
TK can be effective. We've seen it before. There's no comparison though. The kid can play and he doesn't need to shoot the puck or turn it over every time he touches it. |

As he should, kid has been great.
I want to caution everyone in here, based on what I read more so in other blogs. There seems to be a ridiculous amount of over confidence from this fan base. I hope I need not remind everyone what we have seen the last 3 years when we get our injured stars back. We have seen numerous times that this team plays out of their mind when these guys are out, and when they come back everything is out of whack because everyone tries to get them the puck, they're not up to game speed, take lazy penalties etc.
So while this team is stacked and I realize it's hard not to get wrapped up in the success they are having, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We are going to have to beat 4 good teams to claim the prize. The fall is harder when you expect to win. See 1993.

They should 100% give bennett the opportunity to play these playoffs.
With the current lineup, there is so much depth that he can be sheltered (if need be) when times get crazy. He is the future and needs the exposure... TK is not.
Bennett has done everything required to earn a spot. TK just continues to dissapoint with wrist shots to the chest of the opposition goalies. |

Agreed. One game at a time. Anyone can knock you out. When the deadline was coming to a close Shero summed it up, just like you did. You put them on the ice and you hope they come together to do great things. No guarantees. Take a game at a time and try and win 4. Then move on to the next series and repeat. |

Yeah, for sure, like Gunner said.
Josh Yohe and Michael Russo are some good ones to follow. Shelly Anderson, Nick Costonika and Sam Kassan too. Most of the TSN people are good follows as well. |
