I wonder if Ottawa would trade Don Brennan, I would be willing to part with Jeffery and a 3rd rounder for him. Any thoughts?

Just reading stuff this morning, he is the same clown who in 2008 said that the Senators should target Crosby's injured ankle, and then when called on it face to face by Laraque, basically sh!t his pants. |

I wish I could see his face this morning after seeing all the tweets that are ripping him to pieces. The hockey world as a whole should stand up for Cookie. Probably won't ever happen though. Millbury was spewing garbage last night too. NBC needs to fire him, yesterday. |

The Ottawa Sun when it comes to this topic is starting to become like Al Jazerra new outlet to me - a figment of lies. If Matt Cooke intentionally injured Karlsson, sure, he should scrap, but people with a hockey IQ understand he didn't. This is why I'm starting to think hockey fans in Ottawa are stupid beyond belief; just like management and their media. Anyone who sees that play again and can even think he did it intentionally is a buffoon.
If I were the GM and coach, send the AHL team - Engelland, Bortuzzo, TK, Vitale and Adams to play them. That would piss off the masses to no end. - Oneonta Penguin

Although I don't always agree with his coaching, last night Bylsma set a really impressive record. The guy seems to personally be a classy guy. |

no... what did he mean? he meant that he really doesn't care what she thinks was a penalty or wasn't because he thinks she doesn't know the game and because she's never played it...
it has absolutely nothing to do with gender... it has to do with the fact that he thinks she doesn't know anything about the game... he would have said the same thing to any male reporter as athletes do all the time.
this is just another example of people trying to make something out of nothing... |

I don't either in the context. Asking him a baited question after a loss to a heated rival his response doesn't shock me.
But then again I'm not a very nice person either. |

There is the questionably sexist part of it bringing up her being female for no reason whatsoever, but then just his overall Richardish part of his tone and comments.
Even if it was a male reporter, it reminds me of the Andy Sutton "are you an expert" comment where he was an a-hole as well. |

look i'm not arguing that it was a heated moment to say... i'm arguing that this isn't sexist...
the female ref part is questionable, but I think he was going more for the sarcastic humor part then the sexist element of it.
whenever a guy loses a game like that and then reporters come in and start telling you how you do or how you should do your job, things like this will happen. imagine if you just worked a 12 hour day and then had dozens of people coming in commenting on your job... i'd be annoyed too. |

Regardless of its status as a "sexist" or "non-sexist" comment he shouldn't treat someone who is just trying to do her job like that. It isn't okay to humiliate another human being like that, especially in public, just because you're in a bad mood. |

In all fairness, I did read in another post somewhere that there is an extended version of the interview where she antagonizes him more than is being reported in the"edited" version of the story. Basically what is being reported leaves out the build up to his comments where she is getting under his skin, and picks up halfway through where he starts sounding like a richard. |

Right, but she was just doing her job too. The difference is he went out of his way to be spiteful towards her when she was doing her job in a moment when she couldn't even really defend herself. Cheap shot. Classless. |

If Brooksie was female Tortorella would have been fired for sexual harrassment 10 times. |

this happens all the time, especially considering the time of the year.
reporters know what they're getting into. after a loss they are walking into the hornet's nest and it's her job to ask questions, not tell guys what is or isn't a penalty. that's what gets reporters into trouble with players, they try and tell them what happened or what should have happened.
like I said, this happens all the time, it's just silly to me that he is being labeled a sexist just because he snapped at a reporter who happened to be female. |

You never know. She might have been given the benefit of the doubt there since she covers the Canucks.
I mean we've seen reporters that mess with the coaches/players of their own team. Brooksie comes to mind with Tortorella. |

I was about to make this exact comment. It almost seems like she was trying to get away with asking a loaded question because she is female where any other male reporter wouldve been treated like Torts treats Brooks. What is Keith supposed to say? Yea I got beat on the goal and yea I slashed him. Rather than go off on her Torts style, Keith just gave her some sh!tty attitude to deal with. |

Here's the whole thing:

She is an idiot, no doubt, and instead of just asking him about the slash like she wanted, she keeps asking vague, leading questions.
Still though, he could have handled it much better, he's been in the league for like 10 years, I'm sure he's dealt with more annoying reporters than her. |

I'm all for the You Can Play movement in the NHL and all that nice stuff but i think its a little over the top that Tyler Seguin has to meet with YCP folks because he said "no homo" in a tweet last night.
Apparently because of the newly minted partnership of the NHL and YCP Seguin will have to be "educated" now about being mildly offensive.
Seems a bit much if you ask me.
